Default Problem with new base

I broke my original base one my hookah and I measured the top. The one I ordered said it was the same inner diameter, but the stem won't stay down in the base, it works out until about the last ring or two of the big rubber part is out and gets the whole leaning tower look going on. Is there a quick fix for this?

use sand paper on your grommet and sand it down on whatever side it is leaning away from.

Yeah it seems the new base is too small, I was going to try to use a razor and shave it down but sandpaper is a great idea. Thanks!

if you dont have sandpaper right now and really wanna smoke, just do what i do with my KM - Put water on the grommet and it'll slip in nicely. ta-dah!

Except the problem is that once the grommet is in, it expands and pushes itself out. Getting it in isnt the issue.

well yeah, but then you just gotta wobble it back and forth to get it out. That's all. As tough as KM grommets can be, even i can get it out by myself. Just get some elbow grease in there get it out. Anyhow, I'm gonna sandpaper it down one of these days. I did it to my other KM, but i'm just being lazy. Water is just fine.

Just return the base telling them it doesn't fit

Chances are, if this base doesnt fit, then the next one wont either, and i doubt that they would let you get a new one anyways considering they have the dimensions measured out online, they would just assume that the error is on your part for measuring wrong.

good luck

The sandpaper helped alot, is there a place to order the new rubber parts of different sizes? Also, how do I know which one I need?
