Default stop wasting money on lemon juice

ok so i know most of us use lemon juice to clean our hookahs, i also know there are a few that use plain old white vinegar too. i tried vinegar while i have been home for spring break (we didnt have any lemon and i forgot my brushes so i needed a way to clean my hookah) i tired it and it pulled out more stuff then the lemon juice did, got a nice green color out of it (filled the stem and kept it full for about 30 seconds). it kicked out the hint of bad mya brass ewww smell much better than lemon and rinsed clean really quick. best part is it is cheap as dirt

I always use vinegar, just because i have lots of vinegar and no lemon juice at home. It does work very well, just if you're going to mix it with baking soda while you're cleaning, well, you know what happens... :P

um vinegar will remove tarnish, it is an acid (weak but still an acid) so it will etch it clean. any resulting tarnish is from removing any oil/dirt that was protecting the brass before hand. also when it comes down to it, you want a light layer of corrosion (patina) because it ends up protecting the metal when you talk about ideal

I used vinegar a couple times, honestly I don't anymore because of the smell... It really makes me sick.

I figured it does wonders on drip coffee-pots and the coils in our electric water boiler, why wouldn't it work on a hookah??

sick just from smelling it or did it leave a smell in your rig?

i kind of like the smell of vinegar but i also love vinegar in foods and salt+vinegar chips

holic, for smooth bored stems water works fine but for stuff like myas where the stem is not smooth inside plain water doesnt do it, even soap and water doesnt do it fully

vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice, and many many other natural ingredients are fantastic cleaning agents. Lemon juice is hardly expensive haha, but vinegar with baking soda is a good alternative.

well paying less for a gallon of vinegar compared to a quart of lemon juice saves in the long run. also for the myas i found it works best to plug the top of the stem with your finger and fill it from the bottom (with the down stem removed) with juice/vinegar and let it sit there for 30+seconds and it cleans it really well. for a small hookah its not a huge thing but for large hookahs a thing of lemon juice will last a few cleanings only.

but doesn't the vinegar make the hookah smell? that's why i'm hesitant to use vinegar to clean my hookah/hoses. and do you mix vinegar with the baking soda or do you just use it straight?

Lime juice concentrate works very well. I been using it for couple years now and it always leaves a nice scent too!

I just used straight Apple Vineger. Worked fine. Cleaned my hookah great, I didn't really smell any vineger residue after I washed it out.

I wash my hookah with Dawn direct foam, and it last me 5 to 6 months maybe longer. And it cleans it good. half pump for the stem and half for the base its all you need.
