Default I need some HELP

So I bought I spent like $160 on some hookah stuff today at a hookah bar. I can't order off the internet and I don't have anywhere else to buy from, I had to drive an hr and a half just to get to this place. Anyway, I found a "KM" hookah that was marked $100 that I really liked, which was used. Well, I bought the hookah, *came with tongs, washable hose, bowl, gromets, about 50 mouth pieces* dome windcover, 3 50grams of fantasia, 1 100gram of their blue mist, extra mod bowl, vortex bowl. I inspected the hookah/cleaned it very well before I tired it out. I looked for where it was stamped KM on it, and it didn't have it anywhere. It it handmade, and I know it's an egyptian. Besides that, I don't know what it is. I have never seen a KM in person, but I hear the stem has a large diameter. This "KM" is just as thick as my 19" chinese hookah, not any bigger. It's a large vase and 29" with a vortex bowl. Also the stem unscrews into two pieces. What could this be? and Should I keep it?

I had a lounge owner try to pass some no-name Egyptian off as a KM to me last week. No good. Buyer beware I suppose. Hopefully we can help you out when pics are up - though, I doubt you will be able to get your money back.

Yeah, you overpaid regardless of what it is. You can get new KMs for 100 bucks, sometimes less depending on the model.

A KM does not screw together, it comes with a KM tray with Khalil Mamoon written on it, the stem is usually longer. They don't make KM's that tiny. The hose port is also usually different. It flares out as a circle instead of it looking like theres a bolt around it.

Not true. There are KMs in the 22" range. Mots are larger, yes, but there are smaller models available.

But other than that, you are right on most points. I have also seen KM pipes without a branded try too. It might have been a later replacement, but I remember seeing/hearing about some that are coming with pretty standard trays.

Not exactly right, the precisions i have the hose port is squared off like a hex nut. I think you meant nut not bolt..

Authenticity

You know a Khalil Mamoon hookah is authentic as soon as you pick it up. However it is not as easy when making a purchase online. There are however a few things to look for when making your purchase. Khalil Mamoon almost always stamps their name on the top of the stem (where the tray sits) and on the tray. There are certain styles, which also have the Khalil Mamoon stamp on the hose port (usually found on the full cast hookahs such as the Kafae models). The hose also has a Khalil Mamoon label attached to it and in some cases the Khalil Mamoon name is also printed on the hose itself either on the handle or the main part of the hose.
A common misconception is that the spelling of the English translation of Khalil Mamoon is a way to tell its authenticity. That is not true, since there have been various translations of the name some of which are Khalil Mamoon, Khalil Mamoun and Khalil Mamon. There is a simple explanation for that, lost in translation.
In Conclusion
We know that buying a Khalil Mamoon hookah on the web can be daunting because of the many rumors and misconceptions. We can however assure you that as a reputable hookah retailer who has been in business since 2001, all the Khalil Mamoon items we sell on TheHookah.com are 100% authentic. We have made visits to the Khalil Mamoon factory and store in Egypt and met with the Mamoon family personally in order to assure that. We have also made some special requests such as the multiple hose Khalil Mamoons, which many people thought were non-existent.
We are hookah enthusiasts just as much if not more than we are business people. We truly appreciate the art of hookah making and immediately spot honest craftsmanship when we see it. We hope that you will appreciate the craft of traditional hookah making as much as we do. If you decide to make your Khalil Mamoon purchase through us or another retailer, we know that you will be a proud owner for years to come since these hookah hold their value more than any other make on the market. Some models may even gain value depending on the rarity of the piece.

Ahh your right. Some of the tri metals i've seen do have that bolt or hex nut, whatever you wanna call it. Thank you for correcting me, I'm just used to seeing other egyptian made hookah's that aren't km's with a hex nut on the hose port.
