Default Clay bowls

I been doing some research over the web about clay and glazing it because i was thinking of trying some new bowl concepts and the easiest way of using clay is polymer clay. I read many tutorials and FAQs about forming and Glazing and hundreads of things about it but i havent read anything if it is food-safe. If anybody knows about it, enlighten us please!
Did anyone work with polymer clay before?

Cheers

no, not a good idea. polymer clay is mislabled as non-toxic, but its not food-safe.

i have used it before a few years ago. personally i wouldnt use it on anything i was going to eat out of because of the plastic it is made out of.

If you want to do it to make a prototype by all means use it to make it, just dont actually smoke from it. use it to see how airflow would be and what dimensions your final product will have to be after curing.

Currently i dont  have access to high temp ovens (until february) and i  cant wait to try a few things! ( including nofriendo's revolution bowl). I 've heard a lot of people making plates or pots for water (clay keeps water cool) but in hte case of a shisha bowl, which icludes heating up, might be dangerous. Am still searching the web for info on polymer clay and and what i get is "dont eat out of it" ( the reason they give its that its too porous so its the perfect place for bicteria breeding) but i heard ( and sounds logical because it smoothens the surface) that glazing it will make it usable!
I will defenatelty use it for modeliing my bowls but it would be nice to see if it works before making it with real clay

Today I actually read about a guy who made blows out of polymer clay ( he had previous experience with it) and then glazed them and they were absolutely awesome and fully usable. I read a few things about glaze and i found out that not every type or brand of it is food-safe. I guess 'll have to look around a bit and find one that is food-safe ( starting monday ofcource.)
