Default Hookah Starter Project

We are working on a project right now in which we are developing a unit that will startup the hookah in the beginning. Personally, I don't like have to start up the hookah initially. We want to know if people would be interested in this product and if you have the same feelings as us about the initial startup? If interested in such a product how much would you pay for it? Let us know your opinions!

start up the hookah....meaning....like....take inhales to get it going?

can't you just let the coals + windcover sit on there for a few minutes and the bowl will be heated?

I don't understand what this project means. Are trying to build something that will set up a narghile or something that will begin to draw the smoke? I guess I need more info.

Do you mean in terms of heating up shisha in the bowl? If that's the case there's already products similar to this. Electronic coals, sort of like a hotplate that sits ontop of the bowl. From what I remember it didn't go over too well with the HP populace.

Sorry about not being specific. We mean the initial puffs you have to take to get the hookah going after putting the coals on.

i think this is kind of frivilous. I dont think you would sell many of these... or they would have to be VERY VERY VERY inexpensive.

you got me scratching my head in mystery but hey what ever it is I hope its innovate and useful

if you want to go another route I suggest finding an alternative healthy way to heat up the bowl, maybe a completely clear hookah ( always wanted one of them ), or simply carry hard to find brands. But hey good luck and can't wait to see what you guys cook up.

this is kind of like an idea that I had. I was thinking of somehow getting a really small computer fan in-line with a hose so it would "inhale"

its around, called the shsiah vac, coasts way to much

honestly even in a lounge i dont see a need for it, if you really want to start your hookah get a vacuum or just wait a few mins with a wind cover on

creative, but i dont think it would be a hot seller, particularly when people have less money, are trying to save more, and the price of the tobacco we smoke just went up.

make an adapter that will fit over one of the small shop vacs and leads to a male hose tip so you just put it in the end of the hose and turn on your shop vac ... that's what a lounge by me does and it works

i would be worried it would suck everything down the stem being a shop vac

you know one of those little air mattress inflators/deflators would probably work

No no i think i get it man.

ok here's what you need to do:

get a poster that reminds people that yes, you need to let your coals sit on the bowl for a tad before you start smoking.

you would need to provide something to hang it up with because most users who dont want to wait, probably wont go out of their ways to hang up a reminder.

I would never buy anything like that. I mean how lazy do you have to be to use a vacuum to start your hookah? Might as well not bother. Part of the experience is the process.

So, the machine will smoke for me !! I don't see the point of making such a product. I think we are going to ruin the experience of hookah smoking by having these products. Anyway, any vacuum cleaner can do this job and it should not cost more than $30 or $40.

well... ill tell you what I do... because in my lounge the hookahs come out ready to smoke... i dont smoke them all to get started lol... i have an air pump...simply i have a flex piece of hose with a mouthtip on it and basically plug the hookah hose into it and turn it on and it pulls the air in and blows out the other... works like a charm. but i own a lounge so it has a point for me to have one but for the single person who is sitting around smoking maybe 2-3 pipes a day if that... it wouldnt be economical i dont think... maybe you could develope and market "lounge" equipment.

key points: low noise, big psi, and sanitary. package it to be plug in and use.

i dunno tho... im crafty but it could be improved on.

I like starting up a hookah, you get to be the first person to taste it, the first person to get a buzz, and, if you are like me, you get to reap what you sow...

Also, it does seem like a waste of money... such a thing would be expensive considering the dynamics of such a machine...

Starting my hookah doesn't bother me any, but I could see not wanting to have to do that for every setup at a lounge. Maybe later I'll screw around with trying to start it with a turkey baster, lol. That's the best I have laying around the house...

8 bucks is a waste of money, if you cant use your god given lungs, then shouldnt be smoking.
