Default Question about my new KM

I just got my 35" KM ice hookah and after watching video reviews on several similar KM's I couldn't help but notice that mine seems to be a lot lighter than other people made them seem. Can anyone put up a guess as to how much their 30+ inch stems weigh? The total shipping weight of the stem, the vase, the bowl, a 50g box of tobacco, and a grand caravan hose was 7.4 lbs. When I pick up my stem I feel like I'm going to break it if I hold it too tightly.

You got an all stainless steal km.. well besides the welds and valve and possibly the outside of the hose port.. but they are very light.. i have one too.. not on me but Id say 2-3 pounds

my 22 inch brass nour weighs twice as much

Yep some are light weight and some are heavy as crap, my tri-metal is very sturdy and heavy whereas the hafa is lightweight

this is why i tell people to buy syrian brass.....or at least km brass...

the steel seems to get hotter quicker and just feels cheaper when you hold it.

that being said, people are still happy w/ their KM ice, so enjoy it, and make sure to watch out for leaks in the ice chamber, apparently it happens often, search the forums for it

Thanks everyone for putting my mind at ease. It smokes great I was just a little concerned about the weight. So far no leaks in the ice tray, but I did read that was a common problem.

A friend of mine has had two ice kms with leaks in the ice thing, I recommend sealing that shit up before even attempting to smoke out of it

Yeah, be sure to seal up the ice chamber, or it will leak, that's a promise. KM stems aren't heavy. They're stainless steel. I'll be a +1 in the "If you want heavy/sturdy, Syrian Brass is the way to go." KMs are more than durable and good, just gotta keep them in good shape.

Lets just say if I had to beat someone with the stem of one of my hookahs I'd choose my 22" mya stem over my KM Hafa stem. Much more solid.

i like how you stated that, because if you see any of my syrian stem reviews, i do mention how they can be used as weapons... my glyph and af could have prolly broken through my old mya stem w/o a scratch even

brass can double as a car axel

but KMs are still quality, even though they feel light sometimes

You have to pick the right KM. Get one with a brass core. No, it's still won't weigh as much as a nour or be a sturdy but brass is better than stainless for longevity.
