Question About my hose...

Does anyone know or can anyone tell if this hose is waterproof to clean?

http://www.hookahcompany.com/rainbow..._3538_prd1.htm

I've been washing it out with water. I think it is all plastic but am not totally sure. I hope I haven't ruined it...from what I tell, it still works the same as when I got it. Any info would be great, thanks!

Nope. I saw KM and then exited it before it loaded the page.

No KM hose is washable, even though they say it is. They are made of Sprite boxes and garbage after all.

The inside is most likely no plastic, but that would not be entirely your problem from washing it. The very old KM leather hoses, that aren't available here in the states, could not be washed because mildew could grow on the inside (it can really grow anywhere there's water). The main problem with these hoses is that there is a metal coil on the inside, and when you wash the hose, the coil rusts and rust is not good to inhale.

the km hoses will collapse as they rust further, that hose is not washable, sorry to tell you, but its probably time to get a new hose for your own health.

I'm still curious...I've probably washed it out with water 3 times. Do you think that's enough to rust the inside?

eh, it may be only slightly rusted, then again, as long as it was moist it may be rusted.

with that hose, you'll notice that it will probably collapse on the inside before the rust kills you.

thanks, I'll probably end up using other hoses and eventually buy another good hose that IS washable...I've seen some Egyptian hoses that say they are washable. Should I believe what they say?

With the materials they use to make those hoses.. I think just by smoking it would rust or collapse.

No, only Nammor/Grand/Razan and DIY vinyl hoses are washable.

I haven't felt any particles on my tongue yet, and the airflow is still really good. Inhaling rust scares me a little though.

All classic hoses will eventually begin to degrade. If properly cared for it takes a long time but if water gets inside it is a very rapid process.

Grab a Razan and take it as a learning experience. Unless it expressly says it is washable and tells you that the materials used are all water safe DO NOT WASH! Go grab an AF healthy hose if you don't want to drop the coin on a new "real" hose. They work well and are entirely made of plastic.

Yeah I did the same thing years ago when I first started smoking. After a couple of weeks I couldn't take it anymore and just went out and bought a new hose.

btw. I bought the AF healthy hose and it works really well for being a "cheap" hose. Well worth the money. If you dont mind the neon green handles.
