Default Help with Tangiers...

I acclimated my Tangiers for 4.5 hours and it smoked pretty well. I let it sit for an additional 18 hours and it smoked good. I put it into a tupperware container and smoked it a couple days later and it did not taste very good at all, it was very limited flavor and it tasted harsh like it was burning.

The shisha does not smell as strong as it did when it was smoking well. Do I need to re-acclimate the shisha, to get the smell back, as I have heard that if it is smelling good, that it will smoke good.

I've noticed that some flavors from Tangiers, particularly those on the citrus end of the spectrum will sometimes tapper off w/regards to flavor. What r u smoking and have you changed anyhing regarding your set up during the interum?

I'm smoking White Grape. I did everything exactly the same, down to the size of the coal, how much and how I packed it, and I got a different result. I think I'm gonna try to re-acclimate the shisha, as it does not smell quite right. I'm also going to experiment with some other stuff that i've read here. I hear so many people say things, only for people to contradict the statement and say that they're right.

yep. this is the way to do it. every 15 minutes or so, just take a big whiff of it, and you'll know when it's ready.

It has already acclimated for 20 hours, BUT I do live in Florida. Is there anything I can do on my end, or is that just the way it goes with the humidity changes in FL

that should be more than enough acclimation. keep in mind white grape is a new flavor and Eric may still have some tweeking to do.

Alright, I tried to re-acclimate the shisha since I am in Florida and there is a lot of humidity change. Does the air conditioning effect how well this works? It has been acclimating for about 3 hours now and I can hardly smell it at all.

Abu may have hit it on the head. I have white grape and luckily have not had any issues at all. But the humidity here is stable so that may be a factor. And if your in Florida you may have trouble. I don't know of many who have good luck with it there.

some flavors react more to small temp/humidity changes and may need more acclimation through out your use of it. some people would acclimate for 30-60 mins before they smoke it always, others dont. if you smoke it often 30-60 mins should do it before you pack it but if it sits around for a while you might need more time

as to all the brand arguing, tangiers is a decent tobacco, some have issues with it and others dont. it does take a bit more since it needs acclimating but i dont think it needs much special packing. its not my go to brand but it is something i have in my stash

now i have a different view lol... to me there is no "one and only" tobacco. I smoke tangiers and nakhla... I love both. Tangiers works for me so I really never had a bad time with it. It really depends on what you personally like.

I opened up my new pack of tangiers chocolate mint, OH MAN! It smoked perfectly, really good flavor with a super nice mint aftertaste. Smoked perfectly. I think that I must've overdried the last batch or something, this is really good!
