Default Newbie Shisha Recomendations

Hi Everybody!

So I finally just bought my first hookah, and since I only had ever tried hookah at parties I am pretty ignorant when it comes to this stuff. So I was wondering what brand/flavors your guys would recommend to a first time owner. I am leaning toward ordering a few 50g packs of Romman (I have heard it is good), and maybe a couple other 50g packs. I don't really want to load up too much right away, because I do not plan to smoke too often, but I want to have a good initial assortment.

Also, what coals would you recommend. I am leaning towards a pack of Exotica, but I don't really know what natural coals are the best, again, I have just heard they are good.

Lastly, what site would you guys recommend ordering from as far as being reputable, and have good prices/shipping prices.

Thanks Everyone,
Excited first time forum poster

As far as coals are concerned, you will get as many people saying coconara, exotica, and *******.

I personally use Coconara for now and they have been good, they last a long time. Any of the above are better than quicklights, yuck.

For tobacco, I'd try a few diff brands, Nakhla, some Al Fahker, Starbuzz etc will all have their fans here.

Nakhla and Alwaha are my favorite atm, they are a great value, but I agree with John, try several brands, 50g packs and find what you like. There are tons of reviews on here.

for tobacco try getting some sampler packs
http://**********.com/product.sc?cat...5&productId=84
from alfakher i recommend peach, strawberry, and vanilla

or buy some starbuzz (its a little pricier but very newbie friendly) if you do get starbuzz definitely check out blue mist

romman, in my opinion, isnt too great. but ive only tried a few flavors

I use Akhla 35m and *******H QLs. As for brands to start, only those you can get in 50g packs. Dont waste money on any 250g until you know you like it. Nakhla and Al Fakher are probably the better choice for first timers since they seem to be easiest to manage and cost is not prohibitive.

some people hate blue mist, so a smaller size is less of a loss if you don't like a certain flavor.

I don't care how many people say SB is the schnit, until they put it in a 50g then its not a sampler tobacco. And to tell newcomers to spend $20 on a 250 assuming they have the same tastes as you is not right. They may not like anything mint or menthol. And 100g are not samples, samples do not cost $10. Just saying Starbuzz is just too pricey to tell anyone to jump on it and good luck with the liking it.

Personally, I got the AF vanilla, strawberry, and grape with mint. The vanilla was kind of off to my taste, and the strawberry wasn't to great either. The grape was alright, but Mizo Grape > AF grape in my opinion. Try some Nakhla Sweet melon

I've noticed that everyone has his own preferences when it comes to moassel. I think you should begin with purchasing few samples (50g) of different brands. This is the best way to find out which flavor or brand is your favorite and I think it is always fun to experiment with new stuff. Also, check out the reviews section, it helped me a lot.

thats not what i meant
notice i said it was pricy
its just a very newbie friendly shisha and i gave my opinion on a flavor

As for alfakher
for sure make sure you get strawberry and peach. strawberry tastes like a creamsaver ^_^
watermelon is either a hit or a miss (ive got a bad batch before)
stay away from melon or apricot.

a lot of people here will disagree with me, but i think that Fantasia makes an excellent beginner's tobacco. Al Fakher is also decent, but the amount of inconsistancy in their stuff these days is enough to make me want to avoid them.

Layalina isnt the best tobacco, but its what i started with,. Layalina and AF was my bread and butter. Then i moved on to SB and Fantasia. Now i am more of a nakhla guy.

I would recommend Al Fakher to start... go with a variety pack as listed on **********.com. I would also buy Exotica Charcoal.

for coals i would say coconaras or johns ******* coals, the cocos compared coal to coal are better (burn longer and stay hotter, but are not as consistent size) however their price makes them second to johns coals (150% of coals for the same price from john and the coals are pretty close to CCNs). exoticas are ok coals but im not a fan personally, they had more smell that stuck around after lighting (like a burnt wood smell) and i wont touch QLs

as to tobacco, i dont like AF, some of it is ok but lately all the AF i have gotten has been bad or at least had a bad taste to it so i have said screw it, AF mint was still ok though. i smoke nakhla most of the time but its not the best tobacco to jump right into since it is a bit stronger it also has more natural flavors, Starbuzz is good but it is more canyish and expensive, Al waha is a decent smoke, not the highest quality but decent, and tangiers is a bit hard of a tobacco for a newer smoker, its harder to deal with the regular line (the lucid is much easier) and it will knock you on your ass

it will take some time and money to figure out what you like

yeah, i definately reccomend getting the 10 pack from al fakher because it gives you a lot of options, and if you really like something, you can pick up a 250g tub. if you love the flavor, you can get a 500g tub. if you want to bathe in the flavor, get a kilo. if you want to MAKE LOVE TO IT, get a 5 gallon bucket.

These are two suggestions both are similar in price. The Al Waha is an unwashed tobacco and will pack a little buzz.

Al Waha 12 pack 50g samples- http://www.hookah-shisha.com/store/p...idproduct=1644

Al Fakher 10 pack 50g samples- http://www.**********.com/product.sc...5&productId=84

I'd stick to small amounts of basic fruit flavors that you like...Try to get them from different brands so you can start judging which matches your tastes better...Go for mixed flavors once you have a feel of what brands you prefer...
