Exclamation Coals alternatives?

Hi everyone,
I am on a short vacation and brought my hookah and tobacco, but no coals!!! There is no smoke shops that sell anything hookah related around here. I'm just wondering if there is any alternatives to using traditional hookah coals.

Whoa man. Bad advice. Never ever use BBQ charcoal unless it is a pure and natural hard wood charcoal. Anything else will give you CO poisoning right quick. The only QL you should ever use are those made for hookah and no other kind. Even "natural" coal can be made from treated wood and can be a problem. Gourmet style cooking coals can be good though.

Then it's just a bad idea. I don't mean to be insulting. But I'm glad you are not suggesting or practicing that idea.

Yeah, so I guess there isn't really any good substitutes besides maybe that chinese electric coal thing that just came out.

the electric idea has been out for a long time and there are a few different versions. None of them work as well as a good set of coals but I have heard of people getting at least mediocre-ok results with one.
