Default Stone me

Ok. I'm going to do the obligatory which hookah should I get post. It's almost christmas time and I need a christmas Idea to give to my other half. Of course Shisha and hookah's come to mind. It can't be super expensive. The max we are going to spend on each other is 150.00 due to our circumstances this year.

Guidelines- Has to be a functional, hookah under 150.00 preferably a cheaper one so I can get him to buy me shisha

I'm not one for traditional Egyptian hookahs. (I do not want a KM. I had one and a I sold it.)
I prefer a one hose hookah.

GO.

ps. Pictures would be nice

Syrian from JandR... You can probably get it hooked up with a package deal.

I would recommend the single hose. I have the 2 hose and the draw is a little tight, and although it is good for smoking in a group, it is not my go-to for daily smoking.

The price of the single hose version of the one I have is under $100 I believe... and it is really a work of art.

I got this one, but a 2-hose with the genie vase.

I really like the hookahs over at AF Online, and the smaller one I think is around $80 or so. They look really beautiful, and others have said they are sweet.

How about the Mya Staff
http://www.hookah-shisha.com/store/p...idproduct=1755

Or maybe the Mya Paragon
http://www.hookah-shisha.com/store/p...idproduct=1761

They're both under the price you have in mind, and they both smoke like a dream... Oh and you can also get a 15% discount by typing in Hookah Forum in the discount code box at the end of the order...

I believe Myas are unreasonably priced very high. I still insist on that blue etched stem syrian i fell in love with from Jimmy. Height adjustable, beautyful, unbeatable performance and pretty fair price tag compared to mya's
if oyu want bang for the buck, go for a quality syrian, a mygdy zidan (i know i spelled it wrongly)

Cheers

A single hose Syrian or a KM.

Mech, it looks like HC is sold out of Amer's for now. Plus, I think she said she wants something different..she already has a KM.

This.
We do have to consider the fact that sometimes people aren't looking for "the best bang for the buck"... sometimes people just want to have the best quality and best performing product no matter what the cost... she did say her budget was $150, getting a Mya within that price range or lower is not a bad thing, I'm sure she'll thank herself later as I did once too...

The hookah lounge in my area has plenty of hookahs for rent ranging from Egyptians to Syrians and Mya's, and yet every time I go there, I see the others collecting dust while the Mya's are being used the most...I onced asked the owners what (from their experience) they considered to be the best performing hookah no mater what the cost...and the answer they gave me was always Mya... I took this into serious thought when I was looking to purchase my second hookah, and I've got to be honest, after purchasing my Mya I've never looked back...

I second the AFOnline hookah, I personally loves the looks of that one and hear that it smoked very well.

The engineer (it comes in a 1 hose version) is also another nice hookah - I have a 2-hose Gold version, very nice smoker and a great piece of room decor when not in use.

I agree on you that they are good for lounges cz they have acrylic vases that never break, screw on stems that wash easily, pefrect airtight seal due to being factory-made but the handmade syrians are still a bit better when it comes to performance, quality, price, durability ( it can last a century) ++++ THE CLASSIC TRADITIONAL LOOK WHICH I ABSOLUTETLY LOVE (thats my opinion though, others may like modern designs)
My point is that a 24" hookah ( thats is made in a factory) is not worth $110 when a 30" syrian (which is handmade) costs about $115

Cheers

I have no idea on the bottom second tray, but I wouldn't use the bottom tray, to much distance to risk dropping a coal to the floor!

according to the website:

"This is the first generation of Al Fakher Hookahs, featuring the new and innovative second tray which can be used to hold the hose and other hookah related equipment."

The picture shows how one can wrap the hose in the tray, it could also be used as a ash-tray, coal tray, and may help prevent the glass base from hitting the ground if ever tipped.

I like the idea of a second lower tray for ashing the coals, I don't like tapping the coal up high, in small trays near the bowls (I buy coal pots instead normally).

But sorry for drifting slightly off topic.

I like the 2nd tray, the stem is so tall and thin, it would look slightly off without the 2nd tray breaking up the lines. The shorter version could do w/out the tray, but IMO the larger needs it.

The only part I rather dislike - the base.
