There are a variety of systems that lounges employ for differnet flavors/pipes.

Pipe 1: Apple/Light Citrus/Mint
Pipe 2: Floral/ Strong Citrus/Berry
Pipe 3: Tropical / Melon
Pipe 4: Herbal / Cocoa Chocolate

i would say against some of those combos personally, like the mint with the fruit flavors

here is how i would break it up with main group then sub groups if you had enough hoses

Fruits
-Apples
-Berries
-citrus
-mellon/guava/mango
-other

Spices
-cardamom
-cinnamon
-jasmine
-earl grey
-maybe rose

Robust
-Coffee
-Mint
-Chocolate/chocomint
-other flavors like carmel macchiato, irish cream, etc

i probably am forgetting a good amount of flavors but i can add to it later.

honestly i use 2 hoses, 1-mints/chocomint 2-all others (even earl grey) and then i have my 3rd hose i fixed (broke the port side of a nammor off but got it glued back so i use it as an extra hose when people come over). i found that honestly only choco mint really sticks in the hose out of all my flavors ( almost 20 nakhlas other than tropicana but i dont really smoke it, 6 tangiers, and 5-8 random others) tangiers seems to not stick really in stuff and ive been told that it helps kick out ghosting flavors or when the brass hookahs like myas that are not straight shot stems get the really bad flavor in them with out having to clean it with lemon or vinegar

ideally you would want to have hoses and hookahs for each grouping of flavors or even each flavor, i know it is common in the middle east that cafes have hookahs separated by groups/flavors so they dont have to clean them as often since the flavors dont mix and get weird they just get stronger flavored

hey matt...
I have had 3 or 4 new hoses that I have variated flavours and experimented and htis and that the couple of days..
And I must say that it feels not even the chocomint is sticking to the hose..
I have been very carewful to pull out the hose and blow out of it when Im done so this is probably why.. also I have not used them for too long ( maybe 2 weeks..

But I feel that this is the case .. what you say.. not many flavours do stick..
a few does and I think Im not going to be this careful anymore.. maybe have 1 washable for "problem flavours" but there are just a few..

so if this is the case.. why are people so "I must have washable hose" ..? Washable hoses are ugly ( imo ) compared to the none washable..
for example KM hoses are not washable but daaamn are they pretty!
and some MYA hoses I have gotten have some real nice work done to the handle.. the hose that comes with the colusses hookah ( bad spelling )..

So I say to hell with washable hoses from now on .. right? Why even wash the hose? its no need to right? This is the opinion I have at this moment.. maybe it changes in a few weeks of smoking in none-washable hoses ...

i smoke chocomint a lot, basically every other night so with that much use it does stick more. i also clear my hoses after i use them (i suck them out though cause i just dont want to fill them with moisture since it is already humid here and i dont need any more promotion of mold).

personally i love the way the nammors look so thats not an issue to me but i could see you side of this. however i would never want to have a hose i couldnt wash because even if you clear the hose well after every use they will build up some flavor eventually. i just thought about how i havent had to wash my hoses out recently and i realize i have been smoking nakhla most of the time so i guess the more natural flavors is the reason behind that.

the other big thing to why washable hoses are pushed so much is that moisture will not hurt them since they can be washed where as non wash able hoses are made from leather, cardboard, cloths, metal that can corrode easily so when the moisture in the smoke gets into the hose it starts to break the hose down and ruin it that would not happen in a washable hose, given a good hose will last a very long time still but it still has that weakness

a lot of flavors are oil based, using water to wash them out may not help.

Alright thanx for the info guys...
I think m conclusion will be to use non washable hoses until they start tasting bad.. and then I'd see if I want to buy new washable or go witht he same story again.. I just wish they made pretty washable hoses...
