Lightbulb Great foil pattern for quicklites

I hope Mercedes doesn't sue me for this but I found a good foil pattern I've been using with great pleasure for about 2 months and I thought I'd share. This works great with quicklites as you don't have to move them or shake the ash off (the bottom stays red and solid while the outside turns to ash - this is proven with Excelsior coals and extends the smoke time to 50 minutes as standard - for quicklites I'd say that's good). Make sure the tobacco is 5 mm (or 1/5 inches) below the foil (double layer heavy duty foil). Hope this helps.

Mate ive used those coals and they are uttly awful, they is a massive taste to it even once its fully lit, u gotta try naturals and notice the difference between the two,

CH QL are probably the best and only QL i would ever use

I approve of this quote.

And even then, when I got some regular CH coals I noticed a huge difference between that and the QL's.

ya, even the best qls i found after you go naturals you notice a taste with, havent treid johns though yet. any way

im not a believer in whole patterns, your is pretty and all but i just do rings of holes, i stick to a certain pattern that is 16,12,8,1 out of habit and to have one less variable

Yes, quicklights get a lot of bad rep. But i have found a way to get around the bad flavor......cook the quicklight coal on a single coil burner stove. This way the coal is completely cooked, something which cannot be achevied without using a torch for 3 minutes and risk breaking the coal. I smoke Coconaras and i really have no problem going to starlight quicklights if i use this method.

yeah dude, that's ALWAYS what i do. especcially with CH ql's. it works so much better, they ash over quicker, and they tend to burn more evenly too.
