Default Saloum Help

Ok so i picked up this tobacco and followed Mo's tutorial.

I chopped up the shisha and mixed it with a little more than half a teaspoon with honey. I placed the tobacco in a HF 100g container and mixed it some more. Then I placed it in a ziplock bag and ran hot water over it to spread out the tobacco and let the honey sink in. I let it sit for two hours and am attempting to smoke it out of a small phunnel with 3 ring hole pattern and 3 naras. I am barely producing any smoke.

Tips? PS I have no glycerine lol.

black moassals such as plain salloum and zaghloul require more heat and more holes than normal. give that a shot.

i made a 3 ring hold pattern with a toothpick on the phunnel. holes shouldn't be the problem. 4 Naras? Sounds a little insane!

I don't usually roll w/a funnel for this stuff. And keep in mind you can always pull a coal if the heat is too much. One thing I've found w/products like zag and plain salloum is that it is pretty forgiving w/regards to heat. You can burn it slightly and it will still taste fine. In fact I'm burning my zag as we speak and I'm just fine w/that.lol Keep in mind many of these traditional product are often smoked w/out foil, so......

Mix in the glycerine and honey. Put in a sealed container. Then put in the microwave on high for twenty seconds.

Then let it settle down overnight.

That worked for my last batch which was hard as a rock.

I ordered 250g with that order I posted about last week. I can't wait!

But I have a question. Could I mix this shisha with another product and produce a flavored product?

+1

Generally when traditional mu'essels are made, the burning agent such as molasses (or in the case of Nakhla and SB, Corn Syrup) are baked in. I've had good luck with plain Salloum this way too.

Hahaha, yes sir you must add the fire power son! I had 3 ******* Hookah naturals AND a windcover on a standard Egyptian bowl (the ones that come with KM hookahs) when I used this stuff. Don't use a funnel for Salloum unflavoured man, roll with a traditional bowl. Be patient! You will get like 1/4 of the smoke of a cigarette when the bowl first starts, but in about 15 minutes of patience and pulling, you'll taste the flavour, the smoke will build. I PROMISE you man. Patience is the key...crank up the fire power and don't be afraid to burn it a bit, it will still taste fine. Also, after your session the bowl might be messy. This is from the honey, just give it a scrub and you're good to go. I hope this helps, let me know how it goes!

EDIT: Just be patient and give 10-15 minutes and the smoke WILL build. I promise!

Second

I smoke my Salloum unflavored out of a vortex or a standard Egyptian. Three CH coals on the vortex and two on the smallest Egyptian I have. Wind cover for both. As a bit of a side not the bowl variation is only base on how wet I mix the tobacco.
