I believe there is only one company that makes vortex bowls, but i can easily be wrong. Anyways, everyone vortex bowl i see on vendors websites look exactly the same. They are pretty good bowls and tend to smoke better than phunnel bowls.

From what I know, there are two vortex bowls.

There's the regular Chinese vortex that you'll find almost everywhere for 10 bucks. Then there's the genie vortex, sold only by Sahara Smoke, I think. There are slight differences between the two like the depth of the bowl and the hole placement. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are probably right, the Chinese rip off everything. I doubt theres much of a difference, I was going to say earlier too, that to play it safe buy from Sahara Smoke.

Both are made by SSC. The difference is in the total size. The genies is shorter and takes less tobacco.

it should be noted that the genie vortex has a smaller opening... so may not fit on some hookahs.... let me know if you need a photo of them ... i got one of each somehow ... can make both fit on my Mya QT but took a little work to get the smaller one to fit on there and be useful.

I absolutely love mine. The best part about it is that the juices don't start running down your stem like with a standard clay bowl. It uses more tobacco than a regular clay bowl so you might want to get the genie vortex which is smaller.

with the genie vortex ... you can play around with a grommet or two and get it to fit on a normal stem ... it just doesn't go down all the way .. will still seal up good though ... or just wrapping a wet papertowel may work ...

if you are careful with a grinder you can enlarge the hole on the bottom a little to let it get further on ...

i havent heard anything of a rippoff vortex bowl, but ive heard there are different hole placements (guess its just batch related), example mine has one hole placed above the middle while the next is placed under the middle and so on. total of um 4? or was it 5

anyway the vortex bowl is great imo, only con is that the tobacco doesnt burn straight through unless you smoke it for like +2h

The Vortex is a great bowl, but here's the deal. If you ever look at the stem, you'll see that it's wide so sometimes when you smoke with it you'll clear the chamber and smoke will seep from the stem. That is the ONLY issue I've found, aside from cleaning the cone out but that's a given. It's a great bowl, just remember the stem is wider than most bowls.

i was in salt lake city utah last night and walked into a random all night smoke shop there called nuckelhead and they have a glass blower that makes glass vortex bowl but its more like a mix with a phunnel and a vortex a really neat bowl and not bad for only 20 bucks

hey guys, just joined this forum and I just bought my first hookah!! Got the 23in. KM Heart of Lion II Dual Tone. It comes in the mail this Thursday and I'm so pumped. I was looking to get a Vortex bowl as well and I was wondering if the Genie Vortex Bowl will fit on it? Anybody have an idea?

Thanks in advance
