Default Acclimating some Peach Iced Tea I received today...

Hi folks.

I've been letting a 250g of Tangiers Peach Iced Tea sit out for I'd say around 4 hours now. Right away I could smell the peach, but there is a distinct smokey-soy-bbq kinda smell to it. It's diminished slightly since then and the peach aroma has gotten a little bigger.

Once it is 100% acclimated, will I smell any of that 'bbq' smell at all, or is that something totally natural to Tangiers tobacco?

Update:

Sister came home and said, "Why does it smell like cleaning solution in here?"

That's not a good sign

Should smell just like peach iced tea. The BBQ smell is the molasses used by tangiers. For me peach iced tea was always a bit robust and could be harsh at times.

It could take quite some time depending on your climate. I know it took mine a while. A good smoke once in a while.

I'm in MA and unfortunately the weather is always changing like crazy. This might be difficult.

some of the flavors just are harder to acclimate.

the bbq/soy sauce smell should go away but that doesnt mean it might not have a weird tobaccoish smell under it so dont over do it

some flavors come good to go and never need to be touched, other needs to be acclimated before each session, this is the game/art of tangiers. its a good smoke no doubt (if you can get it) but for an everyday smoke a lot of people just dont see the work worth it

also the cleaning smell i think is pretty common with certain flavors, thats how skoal peach was, tasted fine but smelled kinda weird, i cant even smell it now though

Right here in MA with you buddy. That's part of the reason I stopped smoking the noir line. Some flavors just never worked for me and I could not rule out the weather and constant need for acclimation.

Well that's unfortunate.

Luckily I also ordered some Nakhla Earl Grey which is friggin' delicious.

yeah damn weather screwing up my tangiers. First its hot then it got freezing. So its Nakhla for a couple of days for me, good luck though, and let me know how it is. I picked up sour and peach ice tea, had them mix for me at a bar once. Best flavor ever.

That could be said of the entire East Coast...

Anyways, good luck with the Tangiers, I'm still staying away from it except at the lounge. They never screw it up.

or get the hell out of there

my good friend was stationed up there at cape cod (i know its not the same as other places but it was enough for him), just couldnt stand the excessive cold and hated the culture/people up there (he was raised in VA so is used to the basic southern attitude)... having to break ice off of patrol boats didnt help either

Acclimating shisha? Please educate me. Is there a reason you can't just use it right out of the container?

Yeah I've been mixing it once every 30-45 minutes or so. It's in my bedroom upstairs with a window fan turned on low.

ya i might pack it up, some times it just doesnt go. i also found some times if you put it in you tuperware container and let it sit a while "sealed" it acclimates out a bit since they are not super air tight (you can squeeze air out of them... at least the ones i have but they are the el cheapo versions)

Wow, Tangiers is pretty good stuff, isn't it? How do you know when it's ready? Does all Tangiers have to acclimate?

its just to get it out of humidity shock, and believe me you know if it needs it, some times its not too off and might just need a bit but if its bad you know. all of the regular line "needs" to, i have gotten a bunch of packs that were good to go (im in va where its pretty humid too), my first few sucked and ended up as trash but after that its not bad. the lucid doesnt really need it usually

as to being "good" some like it some dont, its harder to use than any other tobacco and it will know you on your ass. its the only thing that gives me a buzz consistently any more. its flavors some times are more subtle and usually are not as candyish as other stuff but not as natural as nakhla.

its not a traditional tobacco by any means
