Default I love cleaner/polish!

A while back i posted pictures of my uncle's rig (which is about 25 years old) and today, i decided it was about time to polish it off. The results were amazing! I felt like i was watching an infomercial, but dam that thing was dirty. The layer of dust and dirt made it look brown and a little like gold coated in ash. Anyway here are some before and after pics. I'm pumped it looks so clean after such a long career!

Before!

After! (forgot to clean the bottom of the tray )

Looks sick! The punctures on the windcover look like the outline of New Jersey.

ya i am a fan of some tarnish on brass, and some times on copper

but it does look like a nice rig. if you want to keep it that way w/o much effort to have to keep polishing it, take some floor wax, rub it on let sit 5 mins , then buff off and you will not have to clean it for a very long time unless you scrub the out side when cleaning the stem. i would however not wax the tray or top where the bowl sits on or any where that gets pretty warm/hot, might not do the down stem either but its still helps a whole not on the looks

chlorine will KILL steel, i used to work as a lifeguard and after cutting open a bag of granular chlorine (dry) with a box cuter i put it away, a few days later i pulled it back out and it was totally rusted. makes perfect sense but i just didnt think about it at the time

didnt hate at all i would love to have a hookah of that nature all i said is how to make it even shiner. the firs thing I stated was a compliment on that hookah. Any way you have a very bad ass hookah i think that the only reason i havent bought a brass one yet im lazy and dont like to polish brass all the time even that windcover was bad ass.

I used Brasso, it cleans and polishes! I'm just wondering what i should use to clean the inside other then lemon juice + baking soda.

i really think that should work fine with a good stiff brush it does for me. Im not to sure what to tell u if the inside is severly tarnished. I actually bought a gun cleaning kit for my km's it works great. i actually use a patch and tension jag with some backing soad if its really dirty even after brushing. Thats the best i could tell you im sure there many ways and some will work better than others depending on the situation.

i would scrub it and then fill it with some vinegar and let it soak for about a min then drain and rinse, that really kicks off most of the gunk. it will probably come out very green the first time or 2

when using abrasive cleaners and polishers make sure to NOT OVER DO IT!!!

but to keep brass life up, after cleaning your hookah, and whenever it gets wet, wipe it down with a towel.

if you worn it thin enough to distort the metal by hand or wore a hole in it then you over did it

honestly i dont think you can over do it, i mean there is wasting time over doing it but you arent going to wear out something from over polishing it (unless you have a the shittiest rig on the planet which is not the case here, or if you have no life and need to go out side )

I found a good way to clean metal today. Mix in like a spoon full of salt, half a cup or so of vinegar, and make it into a paste with flour, then rub onto the metal and leave for (ideally) one hour.

I used it on my bowls too and it helped a bunch. But my stem shines like the day I got it now.

overdoing it is not being even when you polish/clean it. you only need to rub off a thin coat of the top to really get the shine you desire
