Default cleaning in the dishwasher....

This may sound alittle crazy but has anyone tried cleaning their hookah in the dishwasher... I did this the other day, Being extremely careful to place in in a way that it wouldn't bounce around... with all the peices in the silverware area... and it was absolutly amazing, I guess this would vary depending on the detergent, but it cleared up more than i could ever with scrubing... Im not sure why but it did the trick, there was no carbon buildup in my base and absolutly no oder coming from any of the parts...

has anyone else tried this? and did it work for you as well...

holy crap..i would be scared of cracking the vase since sometimes the slightest change in temp and cause them to crack easily...plus if its hand painted you can lose alot of that detail in the wash...Id rather just hand wash it with lemon n baking soda just to be safe... Id be pissed if I had to replace hookah parts cuz I messed it up instead of just normal wear n tear...

If your vase is painted or dyed instead of solid colored glass, it will mess up the coloring/ designs. Other than that, I've never had a problem other than how the hell do I fit a 35" KM in the dishwasher...

be very careful with it, i know if glass bangs around it does break... I used this on my mya qt before retiring my larger hookah, so i wasn't 100% concerned... lol

the glass breaking usually is more from thermal shock, if it works for you more power to you. i personally would not wash a stem on the bottom from the chance it could crack.

ive done this with several hookas works well but if its a cheep chinese hookah the aluminum tray and stem will dull and turn a whiteish color becareful doing this works great on my qt but havent tried it on any vases other than that and my old chinese. I would proably not put any painted or gold leafed vases in they will never look the same. Im parnoid about my Km vases since im constantly replacing them cause im a clutz i never need to worry about washing them that bad.

i wouldnt see the point of this on a taller hookah but i guess if its a smaller one it may be worth the shot.

Stuck my bowls and vase in today, washed them good.

Stuck my stem in the bath, with hot water and fairy liquid, squeaky clean now.

I wash my 32" KM and the vase in my Industrial Dishwasher at the Fraternity, works like a charm!

Mya's are basically meant to be cleaned in there. Makes my life so much easier.

But for traditional style hookahs, count on rust and dents, and no cleansing.
