Default lighting coconaras.

Ive been using coconaras for a bit now, but I'm trying to see if anyone has a better lighting method than what I use. The way I do it, it takes me up to 20 mins to light up. I just use a regular stove burner, cook 'em and rotate 'em on each side. Im not looking for a super fast way to light them up, I would other wise use QL's if I wanted coals in under 4 mins. I just know that I can prob cut the time down to 10-15 mins rather than 20 if I use a different way. Any ideas??

buy a coil burner from walgreens and you'll be set. Just set it to high and throw your cocos on there.

the tops will usually look kinda black after you have flipped them, the coil burner usually comes out less hot then a stove will but yours might just not work well.

i use CH coals which light up faster but when i used CCNs i would put them on for about 5 mins on one side then flip. put them on until the sides get ashed (the corners usually get there first) then flip for a min or 2 and that should be fully lit the tops always went black a bit for about the first 10-15 mins until it burned down some

Switch to ******* Hookah Coals.

Coconaras burn too hot, and are very expensive.

keep using the normal stove, put the coals on as always, and then get a ghetto or cheap windcover and put it over the flame and coals, theyll light about twice as fast. only downside is the windcover will lose its color and look "burned", id give it a try with a big can, like a tomato sauce one, ghetto modded

Using a windcover (or, i just take a normal *** and turn it upside down.. Works just as well, and doesnt ruin the windcover) really helps, usually halfs the time or so.

you can make a makeshift windocover out of foil, i think someone did it on youtube and it seemed to work really well, and just place it over the flame and it gets the coconara's red hot in half the time

i would suggest against using a foil wind cover if using an open flame to light the coals, since you can catch AL on fire and thats not exactly good for your health
