Thumbs up New to hookah

I searched the forum for a bit, but couldn't find an answer to my question.

I'm new to hookah, in fact I just got my hookah a few days ago.

I had an idea for something that might taste good but I would rather get your opinion on it.

I heard mixing wine with your hookah water enhances the flavor. My question is, if I was to buy some Starbuzz White Grape shisha, and some white wine, maybe threw in a few ice cubes, would it taste good?
Thanks for the help.

I would not buy SB White Grape. It is a very bad flavor. It's only problem is that it's so weak that there's hardly any taste and there's also no depth to the ever so faint taste.

There are much better grapes out there... And I want to try this only with some red wine. Good idea.

well I use wine as a base on a daily basis... the thing with using it as a base is the quality of the wine doesn't make a difference in taste, so go cheap, and red wine works alittle better its sweeter... other thing about it, use very little I use maybe less than 20% of my base as wine, if you use to much you taste the alchol not the hookah, its not very plesant to inhale... and just rember use flavors that would complement the sweetness... I smoke watermelon and lemon... Belive it or not the lemon complements the wine nicely...

Milk alone bubbles up too much. If those bubbles get in your hose then not only are you looking at rust issues, but your looking at mold, bacteria growth, horrid smell. The best idea for putting stuff in the base is to smell it. The smell that comes off of the liquid is what its gonna add to the taste. Milk, it just smells like milk. It wont make your smoke taste "creamy" or anything. The only thing it would do is give off the slightest taste, of the smell of milk, and the pull would feel different from the viscosity of the milk. Personally, i have found the best results from adding tea and/or extracts to the base. Tea is very aromatic and could give a nice floral taste to the smoke depending on the kind used. Extracts also have a strong aroma, a few drops of this in the base will change the flavor. I once added a few too many drops of mint extract into the base, and i had grape in the bowl. This resulted in a session that tasted like peppermint candy. No grape whatsoever, so be careful, extracts can overpower it.

Don't bother experimenting with different liquids in the base. Just use cool water and smoke flavorful tobacco. Appreciate the flavor of the tobacco for what it is.

So tea and wine alright I got it. Now maybe my last question is whats the best water/wine or tea ratio? And is just a couple drops of extract good?

I tried wine in the vase once. I had a shity red wine that was painful to drink so I used it instead of water. It made the shisha (can't remember the flavor or brand now) taste of red wine but it was waaaaayyyy to powerful, it completely overpowered the taste of the shisha. I would recommend a 50 50 mix of wine and cool water to not make it overbearing, possibly 30 wine 70 water. I guess it would also depend on what type of ine you are using.

personally i LOVED Afzal Grapes, which consists of 3 types of grapes, so you get a wine-ish taste and then you also get a sweeter natural grape falvor, its absolutely delicious.
