there are several different glycerines
the glycerine in hookah tobacco is a kind of "food safe" glycerine

Molasses is in Moassel's, but those are not very popular here, save for the iconic Tangiers brand. One of the reasons I love Tangiers so much, and why I think it's flavors are so spot on and delicious are because of this molasses base.

Most other companies use Honey + Glycerine + Flavoring + Tobacco (+ Preservatives).

I wonder, if they use preservatives, what they are. Also wonder if companies that produce the tobacco for Hookah will have to start listing their ingredients now that the FDA has control?

Most US companies use Honey since the US doesn't have an abundance of sugar production to justify Molasses without importing it. Honey is more readily available IIRC. Same reason we use High Fructose Corn Syrup instead of sugar, keeps the importing to a minimum and protects our interests.
Also correct me if I'm wrong but Nakhla doesn't seem to use glycerin(unless they categorize it as a preservative) in their normal line.

No there is no glycerin in Nakhla, it is strictly molasses based.

Even tangiers is molasses based but they use glycerin too...wtf is wrong with glycerin now? how do they preserve the stuff otherwise?

from tangiers website:

I’ve heard that some brands are “all natural” is Tangiers?
Nobody’s brand is anywhere near natural. The best I can tell you is that Tangiers Tobacco is Kosher, Halal and Vegan friendly, no animal products are used in making it. Much of the glycerin from the Arab world is made from animal fat, where Tangiers uses only 100% kosher glycerin from plants sources.

I don't mind glycerin, I just think straight molasses feels less harsh on the throat. I can smoke Nakhla for hours but with other products it feels strange on the throat. I still smoke my glycerin based ones because they come in an entirely different style than Nakhla. I just like Nakhla as a product more.

I'm going to pick up some nakhla to find out whether it has glycerin or not I imagine it must do otherwise like I said how is the stuff preserved...it would have a very very short shelf life otherwise no? I left my lemon round my friends house I'll check the pack tomorrow unless you/someone cares to list the ingredients...

Water Honey/Molasses (comes from sugar production) and vegetable glycerin
some use flavoring others use concentrated fruit pulp the glycerin is what gives the big clouds and acts as a preservative in some cases and colorants for some tobaccos to make it more attractive

I'm actually kind of saddened that you don't know what molasses is. you whipper snapper.

Molasses is a biproduct of sugar refining. After the majority of the sugar is collected from the pressed sugarcane juice it is then boiled to reduce the water content and becomes a syrup that is sugary and flavorful. There are multiple grades of molasses like there are in honey based on the color and flavor. It ranges from very light in color and aroma to "black strap" molasses. It is perfectly safe and has been used as an addative in foods and other products for years.

Brown sugar is brown because the molasses is not taken out of the sugar. It adds flavor and complexity. So you have eaten or consumed molasses in one form or another over the course of your life.

Regarding smoking, structurally it is very similar to honey. It's just a sugar syrup but has flavor elements that are different than honey that come from the sugar cane (or sugar beet) and the cooking process. Honey has specific flavor elements as well from the plants the pollen is collected from.

Honey, molasses and glycerin are all used as preservatives so often times there is no reason for preservatives in any shisha tobacco products. If there are preservatives it's most likely citric acid and other fruit acids that are entirely natural and safe. Most anything else would greatly alter the flavor.
