Default tangiers lucid acclimation?

hey everyone, i just got in my noir chocolate mint and my lucid horchata. i have them in the shallow containers and they are acclimating, but here the thing, the choco mint smells awesome and ready to go right after opening, but the lucid smells like nasty soy sauce weirdness which usually means it needs to be acclimated more. i always though lucid did not need acclimation and noir did? it seems the other way around for me!

I needed to acclimate my lucid too when I got it. Its because the the entire brand is molasses based I believe while others use glycerine and/or honey?

so am i wrong in assuming they are good to smoke when they smell like their flavor? like, could i smoke choco mint right now, even with like only 30min of acclimation because it smells awesome, or should i still wait like 4 hours? yes, your right mad hatter, that clearly the reason =p

If it smells good, smoke it. Lucid is not washed to the extent that other brands are, and could probably benefit from acclimation. Spread it out and let it sit close to where you'll actually be smoking it

Tobacco is a natural product and is going to vary from bag to bag. I'd give it an hourto be on the safe side.

Thanks, I didn't know the Lucid line had to be acclimated. Horchata was good straight off the bat but ILTOBC was more like a straight-up grapefruit flavor (when it's obviously not supposed to be). It was good, but I was expecting Froot Loops

I have never had to acclimate lucid before. As for how long you just do it until it smells right

so, both the horchata and the choco mint are underwhelming. Both are barely detectable, even when packing a couple different ways and with room temp water in the base. i am kinda sad about this hah

The reason you are not getting any flavor from Horchata is most likely that you are packing it wrong. Tangiers has to be packed differently like some brands as such as Nakhla.
Also, what kind bowl and coals are you using? If you are using an Egyptian bowl or anything other than a Phunnel or Vortex, that can be why.

i've always packed lucid like regular tobacco, not like noir and had no problems. certain flavors of lucid are just weak. oh and cold water with ice? lol....no, that dulls the flavor a bit.

tangiers is a weird beast, some times you need to acclimate lucid some times you dont (more so no acclimation needed) at the same time you usually need to acclimate the noir line yet i usually dont have to or dont have to very much.

if you need it then do it, if you dont need it than dont do it

Acclimation is only necessary if that soy sauce smell is present

i used a phunnel with like 3/4 stick of exotica. i tried packing lucid normally and it tasted exactly the same. is lucid horchata just a weak flavor? its like the most incredibly subtle cinnamon, almost un detectable. and choco mint is not very flavorful either. any tips?

If both are subtle then something is wrong. If I were you I would let them sit out on a piece of tin foil or something similar over night. Then smoke it the following day while trying the correct packing methods. Pack it in a funnel bowl, tight and over pack it, but not too much. What size funnel are you using and how are you making your hole pattern?

im pretty sure the lucid instructions say nothing about acclimation....

i dont acclimate lucid, its not at all anywhere similar to the noir line.

im using a medium funnel i do believe, i over pack it and then use a toothpick and do a 3 circle pattern or random holes everywhere and i go all the way through the tobacco to the bottom of the bowl. i acclimated for like 10 hours for each of them, but i suppose i could try doing it more. and photolinger, the lucid horcahta smelled so bad i figured i should
