Your question is kinda confusing. There are two main types of shisha; herbal (aka surgarcane based) or tobacco based.

The shishas are made moist by molasses, glycerin, honey, or a combination of these.

Some, however, will insist that there's a clear nominal distinction between modern, glycerin-based shisha and molasses-based shisha. That's why we have the terms shisha and moassel, which to some people don't mean the same thing.

Normal people don't care and just call it shisha, no matter what it's made of.

As for uh, the herbal shisha. There's some good stuff out there, flavor-wise. The prime example is Saalaam herbal shisha. The flavors are amazing but it's just not the same as smoking tobacco. At the end of a herbal session, I often feel unfulfilled (probably from the lack of nicotine) and start up a new bowl with actual tobacco. It's a cool novelty product, but most people won't smoke it on a regular basis.

Yes, herbal shishas dont satisfy me much. But i will throw some in one of my hookahs if i know someone who is sensitive to nicotine is smoking.

But with shisha, personally, i prefer ones made with honey or molasses. They generally have better heat management and the flavor is enhanced too. With glycerine, you might get a lot of smoke, but the session wont last over an hour, and chances are, the flavor wont last long either.

If I may add, as mentioned some of the herbal has great taste. You won't get a "buzz" from it that you get from tobacco. If your new to hookah and/or tobacco you may not be aware that you will get a "buzz" from smoking tobacco. Some like this some don't. Myself, I don't like the tobacco buzz so I prefer herbal. I suggest reading the Reviews section of the forum. You will find reviews of most every Shisha there is. Here is a link directly to that area.

Shisha is cheap enough that you can pickup a couple of 50g packs of both tobacco and herbal and see which you prefer.
