Default ice chambe rprotection

tomarrow my new km chiller is due to arive at my door, and i plan on using the hell out of it, now i want to use the salt and ice method to ensure maximum chill(short of using nitrogen) but i dont want to ruin the metal, so i was thinking maybe lining the inside of the ice chamber with plastice, like suran wrap. just curious if anyone has tried this or if they have a better method for max chill without shorting the hookahs life span.

put some JB WELD on the inside where the ice chamber connects to the stem and you'll be fine

Regardless of what you line it in, it is going to condensate on the outside of the chamber. Just make sure to wipe it off when your done smoking. I guess the saran wrap wouldnt hurt though.

the wrapping isnt to protect it from water per se, that im not worried about, its to protect it from the salt water mix that eats away metal

Just wrap something waterproof round the inside of the bowl and make sure you empty it and dry it as soon as you have finished smoking.

Don't use salt, seal the seam. It's easy. Don't over do it and ruin your new hookah instantly. Straight up ice and water is good enough in the chamber, trust me.

You might be able to put a thin coat of rubber cement on the inside, the only thing with this is you would have to give the inside a light sanding so it sticks, but done right water shouldn't ever touch the metal or leak down the stem...

Just put ice first, then water to maximize contact between ice and metal .... no salt needed ever

Saran wrap would take the few degrees away that the salt would be cooling anyways... The saran wrap will definitely affect the temperature. It isn't a good conductor at all.

i dont think your going to notice a big difference with salt or no salt. i would just add more ice as your session goes on and drain some water (they have plugs dont they)

hmm that sucks, it wouldnt be hard to put one in and make it so it was sealed well, i know most people would say its evil to drill a KM but meh i would think about it if i wanted to be able to re-ice

lol well it does get it down to like 25-28*, mythbusters did a thing about how to cool beer the fastest and salt ice water was colder and faster than just ice water, idk how much more its going matter in the hookah smoke though

I have 3 and they dont leak either. Just because a couple members had a leak with their chiller doesnt mean every chiller is going to leak.
