Default Hookah and Drive?

This holiday season I'm driving between three different houses to keep everyone happy. The problem is I won't have any time to hookah!!!! Good news is I drive half the time because no one lives even slightly close to another.
So here's the question-
How hard is it to install a hookah into my car?
How hard is it to drive without disaster?
It's legal to drive like that but what can I do to prevent the police from thinking I'm doing drugs?
Has anyone tried it before and is it nice? a distraction? dangerous?

Please write back with you suggestions!!!

I think it would be distracting, but can't say I wouldn't try it. I think your biggest complaint would be motorist calling 911 thinking you are "breaking the law" and then the cops hasseling you.
so be careful try and use a combo bowl as well.... lol

I have and probably always will be against smoking hookah while the vehicle is in operation.... by anyone...even people in the back seat.

Here is why.

1. It is a distraction.

Even if you are not smoking... and one of your stupid friends loses the the coal... or even knocks the bowl off, you as a driver are not going to be devoting your attention to the road. Instinctively you are gonna be looking back montering the recovery process. Your mind will be on "I cant believe that a$$hole lost the coal in my car.... etc"... not the road.

2. Hoses are a risk.

Hoses can easily slide around operating controls like the gear shift , e-brake... windshield wiper lever. Maybe even go as far as to interfere with the brake petal? Think if the hose got looped around the e-brake and you went for a puff and you are doing 70mph on the freeway.

3. "Felony Stops"

If you are spotted smoking hookah in the car, and someone calls the law on you, chances are they will get more than one cop car behind you. Chances of you exiting the vehicle double time and making friends with the asphalt are gonna be increased. Officer Bob is gonna give you his own brand of chiropractic using his knee that he spends nights filing down to an even sharper point.

What would be neat for backseat use only would be a truly self contained hookah that wont spill or allow any coal to escape.... still got a hose prob tho.

Dont get me wrong... I smoke hookah in my truck occasionally..... but only in PARK! Motor off and keys out. I then always have some water in a bottle or my left over ice in a cup to extinguish the coal dead as a doornail at the curb.

Overall, I think smoking hookah and driving is irresponsible.... but then so is fighting with a cell phone, digging for a lighter or something in the next seat.... whippin your kids in the back.... and puttin on makeup in the rear view mirror

Have you guys seen that Allstate commercial where all the stuff is whizzin by on the freeway.... cellphones... burgers... sodas....laptops...etc...

....looks like they shoulda added a hookah.

My biggest fear of smoking hookah while driving, is that the coal might fall off the bowl and light my whole interior on fire!!! I swear my world would LITERALLY END if that would happen! I love my car WAY too damn much to even risk it. Ummm, oh yeah, it's also a hazard to my life as well as others...

If you get pulled over, JUST MAKE SURE TO TURN YOUR CAR OFF AND TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE BRAKES!!!

This has saved several friends of mine lol. Use the combo bowl with the lid latch, and put the hookah inside a foam cooler or something with a hole in the lid... keep your water cool and also hold it in place. I've done it many a time.

Read what Lake Monster said and I hope you'll understand that narghiles and driving don't mix. It's dangerous and honestly I wouldn't want to be on the same stretch of road with with someone smoking and driving. Seriously, don't do it.

I am with KK on this one, I can't say I wouldn't try it under optimal conditions

But be careful, maybe put a ring of foil around the bowl to keep the coal from falling off? Use a small hookah. Have your BF hold the hookah with his feet or something, or vice versa if he is driving.

It is a risk move though, so do remember that. And Lake and everybody else provided some excellent advise! Like I said, I can't say I wouldn't try it, but the chance os me trying that are slim to none for safety reasons.

if done right, awesome. if done wrong, very very bad. I know people who do in the back seat, so its possible, just be prepared and careful. I wouldn't be smoking nakhla or tangiers if you do.

i had THE BEST car trip experience while smoking hookah last weekend.

we went to see all shall perish in sacramento (about 2.5 hours away)
i had my hookah, water, shisha, coals, everything in the back of my truck when we were going.
and my friend ryan says we should smoke hookah in the truck, on the freeway while we're going 75mph down the freakin highway.
i was skeptical but we actually pulled it off.
with a little duct tape and tin foil, we managed to tape it down and keep the coal from sliding off the bowl.
oh my god it was so tight, everyone was staring at us at the stoplights and some black dude was all like "helll yeaaaahhh!" on the freeway.
haha. and i saw this hot babe that was TOTALLY checking me out when i was blowing rings on the highway.

it definately makes the drive better.
we put a shirt around the vase, and stopped at am/pm to pack the bowl
(cause i'm the only guy that can do it right...jeeze)
and we made a sort of like circular tin-foil wall around the bowl,
and a layer on top with a big hole (kinda like a windcover).
i made some tight freakin turns and went down some gnarly bumps but the coal didn't even move (ql of course).
the only hard part was ashing the coals but good tongs and a metal bowl for an ashtray worked great.

I might try it once BUT ... I am totally against the idea of smoking hookah while driving. It is not worth having an accident or getting pulled over by the police.

I remeber seeing someone in the Middel East smoking "Jurak Hookah" in his GMC Suburban ... the hookah was installed in the back of the car and there was a long hose going under the seats. Sadly, he had his family and kids with him.

I actually smoke all the time in my honda accord. I have a wind cover on the top. Then either have someone in the back hold it. Or tie a cord around the step to the top of my seat / around my seat. Its hecka fun the looks people give and so great if you get a buzz.

I think with an electric replacement to coal it would be very safe to smoke in a car because in this case the coal fall-off risk is off and worst that can happen is a water/tobacco spell..
