Default coal headaches...

I have been trying diff coals and so far the coconara's are my fav but are not worth the money to me, so I decided to try exotica coals out and they are great coals I even love the way they ash ( there is literly no mess...) but they give me horrible migrain headaches... I was thinking of trying cronic hookah coals, I hear they are comprable to coconarra's but are half the price... But maybe Im doing something wrong with the exoticas, I hear lighting them outside helps, but that really isn't an option to me, when I light them I light all for sides for alittle over a minute each... and is it just me or do the coconara's burn cleaner... They are the only coals i've used that doesn't discolor the foil... and do cronic hookah coals burn as good.

I got a huge headache today.. Was using Diamante QL's on my phunnel bowl and it was hot as hell (california weather) so we had the cooler on high and the constant wind blowing heated up the coals way hotter and made it harsh and just ruined everything, gave me the huge headache.. So im gonna have to buy a windcover for sure. Winter needs to come back so I can smoke in my garage again!

How are you lighting the coals? Sometimes that can be the problem.

Im using a coil burner, I light all four sides and let it ash over alittle, Im just going to write them out as not agreeing with me, but then again they are dirt cheap so it might just be the coals, its a shame really because as far as coals go they are perfect... lol, I am smoking with my quicklites until I can buy some ch coals...

Many of us have CHQL vids, and let me say, seriously the only QL i use now. I love them, light quick, no taste, only bad side is that you should do them outside or in a well ventilated area cause the release so much smoke initially.

13 bucks for a kilo isnt bad at all either...

I rotate between coals and use the CH quicklights sometimes when i'm inpatient to get naturals going. I never get headaches from them, they burn hot, and leaves no taste. However they smoke alot, so either light them outside or light them to flame up, rids of the smoke. Also they ash alot, just be prepared.

Have you tried shisaco coals, they are like coconaras but they ash a considerably more. But at a cheaper price and get buy one get one free, you can't complain.

If im smoking exoticas, i cant be in the same room as them while they are lighting. Otherwise I will get a huge headache, i took my coil burner out o my room, and now i just light everything on the stove or outside.

the thing with exoticas, you need to light them outside because the give off HUGE amounts of CO. that could be the cause of your headache. they are great coals though.

I always light mine outside...I m more inclined to believe the headaches are due to the "prizes" u find in exotica sticks in addition to heightened CO production while on the bowl.
