I have a portable one of them at home and they don't work at all. So im left using QL's until I find a coil burner/range.

My buddy has an electric stove like that in his kitchen and we havent had any problems lighting natural charcoal (Exotica sticks).

But I do have a portable electric coil burner that works great. Heres a link to exactly what I got...

I've tried lighting naturals on an electric stove, without success. It seems that with natural coals an open flame is always better, like a gas stove, that works really good for us.

Hope I could help.

It won't put out enough heat to light coconara's or ******* hookah coals. Just get the coil burner, its cheap and works perfectly.

My friend bought one of those types of portable stoves and it fails at lighting natural coals... Your better off getting a single COIL burner.

Problem is we cant get them in the UK without spending 40/$65

so they isn't a real point in getting coil burners for just the coils

COIL is right. The plate burners work, but take forever to get going for the most part (I am sure there are a few out there that dont, but I said the most part).

electric coils are a great quick way to get them going, you dont need fire really.
