Default Knocking over the hookah

Does anyone else have this paranoia that you are going to knock over your hookah and put a huge black hole in your carpet? Since I have done this I do. I also have a 75lb dog that likes to inch really really close to the hookah. :/
I bought a combo bowl and have a ghetto "hookah protector" and lay a bamboo mat under the hookah.
How do you deal with this issue?

I've broken two based, and three bowls by knocking it over. The best solution I've come up with is to build a box to set it in, set it in the very middle of the table.

Table!?! Such a no no in the middle east well at least back in the day. That is my ghetto wall of protection. Has anyone used a suction cup base?

i know ur not suppost to put it up on a table but its better then on the floor where ur dog can knock it down plus if its on the table just put a cookie sheet or a towel under the hookah so ur table does not get messy + messed up if u drop a coal

For my KM down at school, we have a table that we bought from a thrift store for $7. We cut a hole in the top of it, and not the KM sits about 5" into the table so we dont have to worry about knocking it over. I would suggest doing this if you have a permanent spot for your Hookah.

That is the best solution to the etiquette and knocking down problem.

Just pull a couple sofas, and you have yourself a nice little hookah lounge.

Well I try to smoke mine outdoors on the patio. But if you have a smaller pipe you can set that on the table....I always set my small pipe on the coffee table so it's just the right height.

I put mine in the table. This way the only way it'll fall over is if someone knocks the whole table over, which is very unlikely.

We found a spare piece of scrap aluminum sheeting at my boyfriends job, spraypainted it black and painted pretty desgins on it. It sits permanently under the hookah to protect the carpet from coals and ash dust. No tables here... Not to mention that a 35" hookah on a table is kinda an accident waiting to happen.

I say build yourself a hookah table, then you don't have to worry about the hookah being knocked over.

I put my QT on a table all the time, but that's pretty stable. The KM though MUST stay on the floor, otherwise I'd be too afraid of it falling down (plus it'd be a pain to reach all that way to ash the coals :P )

Yeh it sucks when you break a hookah,
I got a nice green glass hookah I was moping the ash of the floor hit the hookah it fell on my wooden floor shattered , and the hookah water went everywhere so nasty to clean. I loved that Hookah too RIP. The whole carpet thing be careful my friend had a flammable cotton rag and a piece of hookah fell on it and caught fire lol.

I actually feel less safe with my hookah on the floor, especialy if you have carpeting because its not a solid platform, it makes it easier to tip, but perfect on tile or wood... I personaly like to use a styrofoam cooler and put my hookah in it then fill it up with Ice packs... this gives you a much more stable base and keeps the water cold...

That's why the metal sheeting is perfect. It spreads the weight of the hookah across the carpet and makes the surface more stable. I've smacked into the ashtray many times by accident and only suffered a slight wobble, nothing remotely scary.

I shit myself every little wobble. We rent so a hole in the carpet is NOT an option.

So then the hookah built in to the table is the best idea. You can also find a box that is a bit bigger than the vase and put the hookah in that. It'll help stabilize it.

IF you were a 75lb pitt mastiff you would laugh in the face of it and try and lay on top of it.

The only person that has ever knocked over my hookah has been murdered and his head just so happened to end up on a pike that i have proudly displayed in my room. Needless to say I haven't had the issue of people knocking it over since. I keep my hookah on level ground, at my side. No worries. If i knock over my hookah, i guess i deserve a burn mark on my carpet.
