Default what to do

hey guys,

so i just ordered some shishaco natural coals.. iv been using 3 kings quick lites.. on the description of the shishaco coconut coals it said it was extremely easy to light so i assumed i could just point the lighter at it for 5 to 10 seconds and id be good.. however i just looked at a review and they were using a stovetop to light it...this is bad for me because the folks wont let me use their stove to light my coals and are completely against it... what can i do?

You can create one of the "penny stoves", or go to a hardware store and buy a portable propane stove.

Natural coals always needs a stove burner in order to light. When it says its easy to burn, it really means they light FASTER on a stove burner compared to other coals I guess.

Just buy a coil stove burner from walgreens or amazon.

Looks like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Proctor-Silex-...9428278&sr=8-6

Since your folks arent cool with the hookah, just light them in your room :P. put a fan near an open window and light the coals right next to them Haha like me!

buy a coil burner from walgreens for about $10... and just set it in a place where it wont start a fire... lol but you don't have to worry about a mess because natural coals don't spit coal dust everywhere like quick lights...

Or you can buy a torch lighter... but a coil stove is much better...

I think there were some members that used a hot plate for lighting coals and they said it didn't work out so well and we basically told them to get a single coil burner. The majority of the hp members probably have the same exact coil burner lol it just works better than anything else.

Hotplates don't work as good as coil burners, I guess it has something to do with its surface and how hot it gets. Camping stores also carry coil burners, so if you don't have any wallgreens locally see if you can find a camping store.

the plate burners that are meant for cooking food - like the coil ones - are actually bad at heating coals because the plate doesnt seem to get hot enough.

I do not imagine that a coffee ***'s hot plate even makes it 2/3s of the way, the plate on the *** is more of a warmer than a cooker if you will
