Default Hookah Bar Help...

Im trying to open a hookah bar in Miami.Basically the only thing Im missing is the alcohol license.My question is the following;

What is the best(high quality) and most profitable tobbaco that I can use?
(Ex. Al faker ,nakhla, yasminia, layalina,Strabuzz etc.)

What tabacco does your local hookah bar uses?

Ill really appreciate if you can help me on this one.

Thanks,

All the hipsters like starbuzz.

All the pros like nakhla.

In miama, I expect a lot of hipsters.

Also, look into Java Tobacco, I ve only tried a few flavors but they were not bad. Pretty sure its made in FL and nobody really carries it. On par with starbuzz in some areas and cheaper.

Retail, AF can be found fairly cheap, $10/250g, and has great taste (it's not a "premium" shisha but is really "safe" and consistent). I'm sure with a business/wholesale account, the prices drop at least 30%.

Shisha in general is very profitable. Even if you pay the off-the-shelf price of $10, you can still get 10 bowls out of that pack, and at $12/bowl (higher in Miami I'd assume), you're bringing in a profit of $110 out of a $10 pack.

My local hookah bars use AF and SB. One charges $9 for AF and $10 for AF Gold, and the other charges $8 for AF and $11 for SB.

AF is consistent?

Also can probably get more than 10 bowls out of 250.

Eh, the AF I have smoked is always "decent" or better. It's hard to have an "off" bowl when you're smoking pure glycerin and flavoring. Heh. Maybe "consistent" wasn't the word I needed, how about somewhere in between "cheap" and "safe".

I'd agree that something like Nakhla would be nice to see in a hookah bar, but it's just not as commonly smoked (or "friendly" to inexperienced users).

i agree that nak might be a bit much but it also isnt that exspencive to get a few commonly liekd falvors and try out. af is a good starting tabaccoo, sb isnt bad for the people who dont like buzz and want alot of flavor.

af/sb/nak in order mo

The nicer hookah bar I go to in Boulder uses Nakhla, AF, and Tangiers

I gotta give em mad props for using Tangiers, especially with phunnels and good Egyptian rigs.

Nakhla is the cheapest, around $3.50 for 250g usually for wholesale. AF is great to use, the cost is right and the quality is great.

I hope you have around $50k set aside for this, I tried to open one and the costs for everything are pretty high.

For hookahs, I would reccomend some Mya QT's or get some reliable KM'.

Being that I am from Miami too pm me and I can help you out if need be.

I don't think you should limit yourself to on brand. I would keep some AF on hand but I would also carry SB, nakhla, JM hookah and hell I would carry a few hookah freak flavors just because I know people down here in Miami would more than happy to pay 12 bucks for a bowl of pb&j shisha. Not to include that with basic flavors you can mix and match and make your own "house" blend. For example you throw in some nakhla mint with some AF peach for a cooler fruity smoke with a slight buzz.

I'm a firm believer that for 90 percent of your clients brand won't matter. But for the 10 percent you gotta have a small stash of the good stuff.

If I were you I would offer 3 different tobaccos, Nakhla, being the cheapest, because it is, but it is mighty good, then AF, because it has a lot of flavors that people would like, then Starbuzz, because it is expensive and you can fool people into thinking that it is something AMAZING!, which it isnt really.

That's how I was going to do it if I opened my bar, a three-tier shisha price plan.

I would suggest offering packages, like $20 for a hookah and 2 drinks or something. $20's are common, and that's a good deal and you'll only spend about $1 in shisha, and however much in drinks, fountain drinks cost around .20 cents an ouce I believe.
