Default What is the right way to mix tobacco flavors?

What is the right way to mix tobacco flavors?

Ive noticed that some flavors like mint or kiwi when mixed ,their flavor overcomes the other flavor.

What is happening?

Thanks,

It is a science .. kinda

Just play around with it. With experience you will know what is stronger than the other. For instance I mixed 80% AF Peach with 20% AF Lemon/Mint and it was delicious! If I had done 50/50 the peach would not have come through much because the Lemon/Mint is strong.

Cheers!

I usually just sprinckle a bit of mint when I mix it.Because otherwise it would taste just mint.

on strong flavors like mint use less so it doesnt over power the weaker flavors. dont be scared to mix things. i have a couple tubs of my home made mix that i found out that i like.

its all gonna be a trial and error thing but you will be surprised how much fun it is.

I use a teaspoon measure and scoop out equal amounts, but if using strong citrus or mint flavours i usually end up with 75/25. Trial and error is part of the fun!

I generally put the selected amount of both onto foil and mix them together that way.

There is no exact way of doing it. So you aren't going to get an exact answer you have to do what you like, it's all about experience.

Stronger flavors use less.. so example mint+grape, use less mint say 20/80. You have to try out different increments each time to find the exact balance you want.

Personally I mix them in the bowl, I don't bother premixing them, however if you mix them before I've heard the juices will mix better.

One way is to look up a recipe of what you want. For example Apple pie, you would put 100 grams apple, 25 grams cinnamon, and about 10 grams of vanilla and 5 grams of lemon. You have to think of the recipe and then make a ratio according what is the biggest ingredient used and then scale down from there.
Fuzzy Navel, use peach then add vanilla and a small pinch of orange. Hope this helps you.

Mix them before you smoke them. Also mix them in the portions that represent the flavor you want to be dominant.

theres another way of mixing which I always use with mint ( qactually I never mix with pure mint. I use nakhla sheherazade mint , its the same as mint exceot the mint tastes alittle like choco as well )..
I use layer mixing... Thats means I put just a small layer of mint in the bottom of the bowl.. just 1 layer.. and then I pack the flavour I wanna smoke with it.. and it is always good..
and also one other funny thing that will happend with layer mixing is that the taste will change in the end of the session to more chocomint ..

If you have the patience after you mix it, put the mix in saran wrap and close it tight in a ball. and let it it sit for a while to let the flavors mix well.

yeah I like to mix the flavors about an hour before I smoke to let them blend together. Also use your nose as a guide. When mixing something with mint smell the mix and if you can smell a little mint and the other flavor, you're in the ball park.

Lol it was a joke. I was making a comment on how silly the question "how do I mix flavors?" is to me.

You've been around for a while. Aren't you used to my semi-psychotic ramblings?

I have a small glass Mixing bowl and I mix for one Hookah bowl have mixed Nakhla DA and El Basha Caramel very nice Candy apple flavor in the end about a 80% Da and 20% Caramel (breaks the anise Flavor and sweetens the DA)

Most Important make notes of your mixes so that you can duplicate what you have mixed when you find a mix you like. Strong flavors like Mint Cardamon and Earl Grey should be mixed in smaller quantities for they are liable to mask the flavor you are trying to achieve remember it is like putting salt in food you can always add some more later than remove the excess.

Another thing I look at is recipe's for what I am trying to achieve (baking or cooking) and when working with cinamon and cardamon which is spices find the proper complimentory flavor in a recipe and look at the ratios used there helps you to get an Idea of what you want to achieve.

If I was mixing Dr. Peeper I would put the cola shisha and cherry, because Dr. Pepper has cherry in it, but just a pinch cherry can be very strong.

Smoke Hookah Freak Smugglin Plums. it's pretty good. Maybe with a little cola but not much as it is almost a Dr Pepper flavor as is.
