Default Are SB tins airtight?

I use airtight plastic containers for my nakhla but with my SB ive just taken out of the packaging and dumped it in the tin. Is this ok?

No...
They are not airtight..
I put my SB in some zip-lock bags and then down in the container... Works good

my friend does this but he only gets a few flavors at a time and goes through it fast. but the metal gets stained real fast so idk if it gives anything back into the tobacco.

and no its not air tight by a long shot. i just take it out of the bag and put it in a plastic bag and put that back in the can, usually put the can into another plastic bag when i have a lot of flavors in the same drawer to keep them from penetrating each other

I keep them around because they are stackable. makes my collection less of a pile.

Nope, not airtight, but it is good enough. If you just have a 100g of it. Chances are, you will use it up before it dries up.

Learned this the hard way, let a 250g tub of grape mint in an open bag with inside with plastic wrap over it and now it doesn't smoke as well as when i first cracked it open...I think its time to seriously invest in ziplock bags and gladware.

ya ive found most flavors degrade over time with starbuzz (blue mist especially) and AF being worse than tangiers and nakhla

Empty it into a zip lock and put it back in the tin.

part of the issue with the tins though is the interaction between the tobacco and metal, ever notice the crazy color the metal picks up when it has been in contact with the tobacco

I just remembered I had some sitting at my buddies in its original plastic bag inside a 250 a while back, it still is fine, a little less sweet edge to my citrus mist - hopefully now a month later its still okay ... (I hate my memory sometimes)

that being said my peach had sat in its tin for ... 4 months before it was gone and everyone still loved smoking it ...
