+1 I agree on a KM. I made a bad choice on my first hookah Purchase and ended up with a Chinese Rig that is rusting now only after a few months and for a little bit more money you can get a nice looking rig to last you years. I*spent the same on my KM as I did my Chinese Hookah... Damn impulse buy...

From what i heard KM.... however if you are strapped for cash, a generic egyptian would work. mine is still going strong after aobut 6 months. but i would try and dish out for a High Quality for the durability and longevity.

edited for clarity...cant type for some reason.

Charcoal means alot!

I'd recommend Coco Nara natural coals. ******* Hookah coals are good too (as in tasteless), but coco nara's seem to last a bit longer.

i would suggest A Km. and ******* hookah or coconara natural coals. You can find all of the things everyone is mentioning over at **********.com. John is a great guy just hooked me up with my new rig. Check him out, great deals, good communication and super fast shipping.

I'm still somewhat of a newbie. I've only been blissing on hookah for a few months. I bought a Mya Bambino and while it's a great little hookah and was a fantastic bargain, I wish I'd purchased the Mya QT or the Mya Chic first. I'll never get rid of my Bambino, it's too easy to clean and travels really well, but I'm moving up to a KM very very soon.

Also, spring for a decent bowl. You don't have to spend a fortune on one, but the cheap Mya bowl that came with my hookah had lousy heat management and then cracked in half one day when I was putting it on the hookah. In my opinion, a nice, thick bowl is a must for durability.

I suggest you buy extra grommets for whatever hookah you purchase, they're cheap and they really come in handy.

As for coals. I LOVE Shishaco naturals. Love 'em love 'em love 'em. The Cocos are good too. I like natural coals. I bought some Al Fakher naturals and I think they suck, I'll never buy them again.

If you buy a small hookah, I strongly reccommend springing for a bigger tray for it. The Mya trays are tiny and coals roll like crazy. You'll need a wide tray and something to set your hookah on that won't be ruined when a coal falls on it. And coals WILL fall on it.

I also recommend surfing this site thoroughly for reviews on whatever you are interested in buying. This site is a huge resource for researching hookah and hookah accessories.

I wouldnt recommend a KM rig for a newbie for the soul reason it migt be too much for them, i think a perfect starter hookah is any of the small MYA hookahs like bambino, QT, Chic, il even say something like a mya vortex would be a good starter hookah

As for coals most coconut coals are very good i personally prefer coconara's

If you get a KM in the end cool, just don't limit yourself.
I go for syrian brass myself.
