Thanks, I figure it might get a little hot. I probably should have done a search instead of starting a thread, sorry.

I do think it serves as a good idea though, if designed right it would prevent coals from being able to fall onto carpet

The only problem with this bowl is that you can't change the coals because the metal cover will get very hot.

Plus it looks like the foil might be difficult to put on tight

i got one of them as an "upgrade" when HS was out of stock on the mod bowls.

i ended up pulling of the wind cover crap and using it, its fine as a bowl (mod bowl) some dont like them really but i thought it worked well, just a bit temperamental on heat

I tried one at one of my friends houses, It worked alright, but that is just for the average joe who throws one quicklight on it and puts it in the direct center of the bowl. If you put the coals too close to any of the edges, then it will be impossible to change coals, unless you have some type of hotpad thing for your hands. idk, not worth it imo....just use a can of arizona tea or monster.

you could use tongs, but it does look like it would run into misc. issues.

I have one it workes well outdoors in really windy places.Takes some getting used to like anyother bowl.
I evetually took all the stuff off of it and use it as a giant egyption bowl for my 32 inch KM copper heart.Fits perfectly and holds about 40 grams of nakhla without the screen.Smokes great with out all the junk on it as a large egyption since it has 6 huge holes

yeah, I smoked with one of these bowls for awhile when I first started, I liked it alot, it took some practice but smoked pretty well, the only thing I didn't like was the smoke was really harsh with the cover in the down positon because it was so small and close to the coal, it kept too much heat in, and not enough fresh air... I personaly have only droped my coals when putting new ones on, never really from bumping into the hookah, and I use a reg windcover just in case, because a regular wind cover should stay on unless it takes one hell of a fall.

I think they work well for what they are. I primarily use one in the car where there's an easy chance of it tipping over. I use it with a small amount of shisha, one coal, and foil, and it works great.

I can easlly pack half a 50g in mine maybee its more like 35g.
and I use foil and not the screen.Yes pack that nakhla in there good and thick.I also poke the holes clear through the tobacco and out the bottom holes of the bowl to get airflow.

ya um, thats rather over packing, i mean if it works cool but it sure gives a different taste i found to just over pack a bit with nakhla and honestly i got better flavor and smoke with a standard fluff packing

i have one i love it. Dont be a retard. Use tongs and its called heat management. You will open and close this a bit. works well for keeping your carpet unburnt. Also you dont need foil it has a metal screen. Its wonderful.
