Default KM butterfly

Got my KM butterfly today at first look everything looks great but the stem doesnt sit flush to top of the neck on the bowl it seems as if the gromit on the stem is a little to big should it be flush it appears to be air tight.

also the tray just sits on the lip below the bowl its not fastened or anything but lose

what you guys think please let me know as you can tell i am new to this

You know where the stem fits into the vase the gronit/washer on the stem does not go all the way into the vase so the mtal is flush sitting ontop of the vase its about just under a cm off the top of the vase

This tends to happen with KM's that aren't bought from HookahCompany. Most vendors, besides HC, do not fix the grommet issues that plague KM hookahs, not that it is at all their responsibility to do so in the first place. KM grommets are usually either to thin or too fat to fit well into the base. I would recommend doing what HC does - use a smaller grommet and wrap it in Mya Expandable grommets until it fits perfectly.

No need to buy a new grommet, just lube it up with some olive oil.

+1,000,000

Just use vegetable oil, olive oil, or vegetable glycerin and it will slide in perfectly.

If you like you could sand it down with some sandpaper, but do that outside or it will make a mess. (Also you could sand it down too much and have a loose fitting grommet which would be a problem.)

I have the same hookah.

Step 1: Place the grommet and stem under hot water for 2 min.
Step 2: Place vase on a flat surface.
Step 3: Penetrate the vase with the stem.

To get the stem to fit flush you need to wet the rubber seal and it fits perfect!!!
