Default ketchup

anyone ever use ketchup to clean the copper parts of their set? it works wonders

Never used it for that, but I did use it to clean a couple of pennies I needed for a project way back in school.

Wow! I am so happy, I did not know this. I love homemade cleaners. Mine, use Crest toothpaste, not the gel kind, the white bluish kind to clean your silver rings. Works too!

the reason ketchup works is because of the acidity and salt.Better and cleaner to use lemon juice concentrate and salt.just wet a cloth with lemmon juice concintrate and sprinkle some salt on it and rub down the copper and brass then use a warm water cloth to clean it up after words than dry with papper towl.

hmmmmmmm... just hmmmm lol.. imma try it on the dirtiest thing (thats copper) i have and if it works i will use it on the big boy lol

You can also try Worcestershire or Tabasco sauce.

Not as crazy as it sounds. When ketchup was originally invented as ke tsiap in 1690 it was made of picked fish & spices. It wasn't until 100 years later people started putting tomatoes in it, since before then they thought tomatoes were poisonous (they're related to belladonna and nightshade, after all). Then they stopped using the fish all together.
