Default How many coals?

Ok if your using coconut coals how many coals do you use for each type of bowl:

standard eygyptian:
small phunnel:
mini phunnel:
vortex:

so far I've been using 2 for everything but think I should start using 3 for the small phunnel.

Depends on the tobacco, but about every 10-15 mins, and the coals are on the outter edge

On the vortex two is enough and you rotate them around every 10 minutes or so. On my Med. Tangiers Phunnel bowl I use three. After the first set of coals are spent I use one split in half on the vortex and two split in half on the phunnel. That's usually takes me to the end of the bowl or to where I'm done smoking. This is using ******* QL's.

** ALL CH NATURAL **

standard eygyptian: Don't use one.

small phunnel: 2 coals for Fumari (2 sets of 2 + Mod), 3 for Tangiers Noir and lucid (plus 2 more eventually, and can go on from there as well), 3 for HH (+ Mod)

mini phunnel: 2 coals broken into 4 pieces (I only smoke Desi from the mini).

vortex: Don't use

This is like a rule for me. 3 CH nats or Shishaco Nats on a Small phunnel bowl with a windcover. BUT have the coals standing on it's sides not flat out, that will bake the tobacco or even burn the tobacco too fast. But that is an every time rule for me =]

I used to always be afraid to put 3 coals on my bowls but now I do it all the time, just keep them to the edge and its fine.
