Default Small problem with my new KM..

The rubber base grommet on the shaft is a little big for the hole in the base. Its a super tight fit and it is EXTREMELY hard to get the shaft out of the base of my hookah after I smoke. Any ideas on how I can fix it? Thanks!

**sorry this post sounds so sexual :P**

water is all she'l need, meaning, on the black grommet, don't use oils or such, just water and it will pop right in.

Well its not about getting it in...its about getting it out. The grommet is pretty dry after smoking. I did leave it alone for an hour after smoking it. But, I still dont want it to be trouble in the future. Thanks

like john said, oils are not the best to use in a hookah, but in your case I would try using some olive oil on the grommet before smoking. This is what I use on my egyptian because it has the same problem.

sand it down with sand paper and if you sand it down too much uses some brown packing tape to get it back to the right level

+1... i have the same problem with my MZ, and all i have to do is run water over the grommet and let it sit for a few minutes before i take it apart... and if it's the same exact problem, you'll probably have to wiggle the stem back and forth to slowly get it out

Water will make it easier to get in but once it dries you'll still have difficulty getting it out.

You can sand the gasket down to fit or use a lubricant that doesn't dry out as mentioned above. If you pack bowls with your hands, instead of washing the juices off afterwards, use the excess juice on your hands as lube for the gasket. Glycerol is used in many products as a lubricant.

sand it, it'll save you time in the long run as well as make cleaning as simple as picking your nose.

EDIT::
Word of advice if you decide to sand it, it'll be easier to use super fine grit sandpaper.

I went to town on mine, I did some sanding and I took a razor knife and carved out chunks of it all around, then did some more sanding and it was fine.

Use a file from lowes or home depot just go around a couple times. if its too much electrical tape underneath then put the grommet back over it.
