Unfortunately the KM Rainbow hoses are not washable. Not only that, but the mouthpiece is glued into place so even it cannot be removed and washed. It's a shame, because they're beautiful and I have read reviews about how amazing they are to use. If they ever made a rainbow washable with removable mouthpiece I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

I always wondered, what happens if you do clean an uncleanable hose? And why?

I don't know if this is the case with the KM Rainbow, but some of your non-washable hoses have metal coils inside them that will rust very quickly if you wash them. Found that out the hard way with my cheap little Chinese pumpkin. Rust in the lungs = not good. Some of your nicer hoses are covered in material that cannot be dampened without it deteriorating as well as having wooden tips.

If you are looking to buy a hose, but being washable is a big selling point for you (which is understandable), then look into the washable hoses such as the Razan, Nammor, or Grand.

Hookah John's Narbish is a washable hose, yes. Definitely check out the hose review thread so you can get an idea as to what the pros and cons are for each hose. I know when I was looking for a hookah I knew one of the must-haves was a washable hose upgrade. So, when I ordered my MZ from Hookah John I went with the Razan hose upgrade and have yet to regret my choice. They all pretty much function the same, but everyone has a preference:

Water in an unwashable hose means you mind as well toss it. Water must have gotten into one of my mya hoses, I started to inhale through it and got a mouthful of rust particles...last time I do that again.

Not only does the KM rainbow rust, but the handle is made of some paper/cardboard-ish material, so it just... disappears :P

I tried it, dont do it

Was it an older hose??

Because after a while hoses will start rusting from all that smoke going through it. The smoke contains water and I would guess that some of that water in the smoke will cause the hose to rust.

I've heard of a few people who've had the same problem even thought their hose never came into contact with water.

My friend and I even cut a hose open when it felt all rusty, and we saw that that's that what it was. Nasty brown particles everywhere.... but again, no water contact ever for the hose...

your hose is always at risk of rust if is non washable, the best way to clean is to exhale and shake it up (clang the ends together) and exhale hard into it and hang....before you smoke again do the same...

or use an air compressor, im told it works well...and the shishavac has one!!! (haha)

as for that hose, yes, it has a coil, i had one that died on me...its not a bad hose at all, i messed it up on accident
