Exclamation Al Fhaker making me cough

Hey guys I got watermelon and grape Al Fhaker and both of these flavors are making me cough for some reason, and have a really harsh smoke. I am using a Mya Qt, default hose. Anything i can do to get rid of the harsh smoke, and I smoked Al Fhaker and they have good quality.

I've had AF watermelon and do not recall it being harsh. I generally find that when things get harsh it means too much heat, time to remove a coal and let things cool down.

Unfortunately this is a common problem with AF since they changed there ingredients so dong blame yourself. You can try packing it a little bit tighter whichay help but ultimately you need to try a different brand. Nakhla Mizo Watermelon is up there with the best, you should try it.

My Al Fakher Watermelon is pretty harsh, and the grape is just unbearable. I only smoke the AF Vanilla, but the Nakhla I have is awesome. Not to mention the Tangiers that will be here tomorrow

Huh?

I don't think its a tobacco issue. I think this is a heat management issue. What type and how many coals are you using on what kind and size of a bowl?

i think it's the typical "al-failure" issue when it comes to new AF that bradedup, dunkel, and zensilk talk about all the time. 3/4 of my AF is like breathing in fiberglass.

It must be if the majority of people on here have reported this issue judy with AF but have no problems with any other brand. If you've not experienced the same problems with AF then you're very lucky but sooner or later you will get the type of batch that everyone complains about

I bought some '09 AF (the last batches i had were 06-07) and it seems like it's harsh with both too little and too much heat...

The Al Fakher lately has been weird. My vanilla seems okay, but it was made in 08. The Golden Strawberry was made in 09 and that smoked pretty well actually.

I used to have a problem and then i started packing it really tight and with a lot of holes that go straight through the bowl, and i no longer have this problem, check my video on how i packed it, and it get rid of the coal, needs more heat and bigger holes, is the quick thing you should do

haha you know what it's like to breath in fiberglass?

as for the problem i use AF watermelon a majority of the time, well recently anyway and i've done out of a normal egyptian and the smaller bowl that comes with littler hookahs. i find that if you double the foil it helps drastically, followed with a tighter or lesser pack with ice in the base always makes it really smooth for me. havent got the infamous throat tickle from it in a good long time

i posted this on another thread, but i'm going to post it here.

-----------------

AF kinda has this thing now about how the owners left in 2008 and started a brand called havana, and the people who own AF now don't make batches by hand anymore, they use machines, and since they are already a big brand in the industry they don't really give a shit about how their tobacco tastes or smokes.

if you think i'm joking, i'm not. AF was my absolute favorite for a year. then it died, now i smoke nakhla because it is always good to me.

+1. I've never had any luck with AF, too harsh for me.
