Default Unglazed bowl / Phunnel fix

is it bad to smoke out of a bowl that has exposed clay? (glazing is gone) I'm thinking of dremeling some slits in the center pillar of the phunnel so even if the foil gets sucked down on to it, it won't effect the draw.... thoughts?

sound like it could possibly backfire and potentially damage the structural integrity of the bowl... although, you didn't give much detail

Mya bowls are unglazed and work fine. Just be sure you don't mess up the spire too much. It might be tough to clean the slits you'd cut with the dremel. Might wan't to look into a vortex. Not any better or worse than the funnel IMO, just a different beast. Although the Vortex is damned near impossible to clean with normal methods.

instead of altering the bowl... just get some electrical tape like PatelBadboy2000 says to in his video. Seems to work great, or just practice packing your bowls different ways. I recently got a Tangiers Small Phunnel, and i havent had any issues with tight draws from the foil sagging with it yet. The same cannot be said about my old chinese phunnel

My Lebanese bowls are all unglazed and work perfectly. And as for the slits, you could do it.
