Default Exploding Quick Light!

Last night the boys came over around 1ish and we bullshitted over some hookah and watched Little Nicky.

Out of no where the Three Kings QL EXPLODED something close to something like a bullet. Send burning crap thoughout my apt - on us included.

This happen to anyone else?

I have never experienced an exploding quick light. I personally swear against them. I have however had other compressed coals explode while lighting them. Haven't figured out why though.

I've only used Akhla QL's but I never had one explode on me. That's strange, I hope you didn't get burned too badly.

This has happened to me before, just not as dramatic as you described it. Ocasionally a Three Kings or even Golden coal will give me a little "attitude"(as I like to call it) and shoot some sparks. But nothing dangerous. More like the kind of sparks you get from lighting small legal fireworks...I'm used to it 8) A good way to prevent from getting potentially burned or scared is to light the coals outside and let them spark over outside. Then once they're done, bring them inside. That's what I do...

Never had one explode, but I've had many a QL's "spark-out" on me like HookahMaster described. But my sparks were sizible and hurt like hell on my arm! Those Ankla's throw some sparks during lighting!

Well like a couple of people have said this happens to both quick lites and natural coals, for me its only happened when i've been fanning them to get them started up. It is pretty dangerous and damn scary when it does happen mind you. Like kingmaddog said hope you didn't get hurt too bad.

Regards

Salam

there must have been an air pocket in that piece. i have only had a coal explode like that while lighting too. a windcover would have saved you in this situation!
