Default Hookah Diffusers

Just got this from Hookah Hookah:

Quote:
Our new diffusers fit over the bottom of your hookah's downstem and make for a smoother smoking experience than ever before!

Smooths the smoking process, making even the deepest pulls super quiet!
Causes the water to move less violently inside the base, so your hookah never shakes while smoking!

Makes the smoke mix with the water thoroughly for a soothing and more pleasant smoke.

Has anyone tried these before? If so, what's been your experience with them?

Thanks

I have a diffuser on my KM, and I love the reduced sound. More importantly the smoke is very smooth, and much much thicker.

You still get the bubbling sound, you can just hear someone talking over it now.

Marc, when you open that lounge in Waikiki, please leave the diffusers off

From my experience:
1) Softens the flavor somewhat but bigger clouds
2) I suspect that more nicotine gets absorbed in the water due to diffusion, i get less buzz
3) Makes more of a hissy/running water sound than bubblybubbly sounds
4) Less vibration in my hookah. The smaller coals dont bounce around on the foil drum as much and don't migrate to the center of the bowl.

I personally don't like em much.

Quoted for truth.

Diffusers take the *pause...bububububububub...continue* cycle out of a session which to me is almost therapy.

With my cheapo chinese rig, there was a definite increase in both flavor and smoke density, it really worked wonders.

On my KM, I notice very little change. Poor thing hardly gets used anymore.
