Lucid line does not need acclimation.

I to recently received a pack of Lucid Horchata. While it isn't necessary to acclimate the Lucid line, I found the Horchata to have an overpowering cinnamon smell and taste right out of the package. I allowed mine to sit open for a couple hours just to allow the cinnamon to dissipate a bit. It seemed to allow the other flavors to come out.

it never hurts to acclimate it, even if it's lucid.

Nothing but tangiers noir. Otherwise it's not acclimation.

?

All glycerine based moassels acclimate. Noir is more affected by it due to it's low water content from the use of dried tobacco.

Water content directly relates to the amount of moisture absorbed from the air. When tangiers is packaged, it will be at a completely different humidity then the package the previous day. This would need more or less or no acclimation when you open it. The tobacco itself would of course absorb excessive moisture. Nicotine content also affects acclimation as well.

With other brands, which are washed, and come out with very thin lifeless tobacco leaves, moisture absorption is a very minimal factor - they can barely hold much water, all of the water is in the glycerol. When you open it up, and it smells very strong, or medicinal - this is simply because there is a high concentration of aromatic air that has had no way to breathe, possibly absorbing any off flavor from the dye/honey/molasses/tobacco/flavoring. When you open it, that is all you can smell, so when you leave it out, the tobacco does not need to acclimate in order to reach the right moisture level, it just needs to release it's stale air. The processed tobacco product can't possibly contain enough moisture to affect smokeability, and there is not enough nicotine to play a part.

That's what I think. . Oh, I didn't mean other tobaccos can't acclimate literally, I mean they won't acclimate. I'm sure some of them might, but Tangiers Lucid doesn't even need it.

this is all bs, i just plop in a few pinches of ed hardy shisha fresh out of the tin and i'm a happy camper every time.

now that i got that out, i really never take acclimation too seriously, I know it should be done and it makes sense. I feel like our climate in socal just works fine, with all my shisha now i just drop it in a flat tupeprware, spread out stir it up, and smoke it within 15 minutes, then for the rest of the session just open the tub, stir it up and smoke away.
i don't have the patience to open a bag of shisha and let it breather for hours.

I agree, we're fortunate to live where we do because I've also never had to deal with acclimation issues even with humidity affecting conditions like ac/heater, indoors/outdoors, dry/raining, etc. I still find it humorous that Eric's survey found that people who work hard at trying to acclimate have more issues than those with the "I don't really care" approach.

Oh and Ed Hardy tobacco FTW. The $217 I spent on this kilo can was soooooooo worth it!

I just want to make sure that everyone knows that these jokers are not speaking seriously about Ed Hardy. Wouldn't want someone posting a very angry thread about how we mislead them in any way regarding a product. We've had our fill recently.

Thanks Kal for posting that, although funny someone new may not see the sarcasm.

Yes, good point. Sarcasm often doesn't come across well with written words.

lucid doesnt "require" accimlation however ive found that letting any shisha accimilate tends to give a better flavor, regaurdless of brand.

I would have to agree, I let my cocoa sit for a bit and it tasted and smelled much better.
