Exclamation Mya QT flavors

Hey guys, I've smoked Al Fhaker, Nakhla, Nakhla Mizo on my mya qt but all of those flavors give harsh smoke. The only brand I can smoke my my mya qt is Starbuzz. Anyone know other brands I can get good smoke sessions with on a mya qt, or help me understand what im doing wrong to get this harsh smoke. Thanks.

We would need to know a few more details. How many and what kind of coals are you using? Are you using a wind cover? My guess is you just have too much heat. You should be able to get good results with just about any tobacco provided your heat management is appropriate.

the hookah itself should have no bearing on what brands you can use, while some pipes offer better draw and quality it ends there, the problem is most likly another factor, as stated above heat managment, packing or perhaps some other factor, the brand or size of pipe however wont change the actual taste of the shisha.

I use coconara coals and even if I light them one at a time I get harsh flavor. Same thing with three kings coals. And I don't have a wind cover. Maybe I should buy an Egyptian bowl? I had the vortex but it broke and it didn't let me exhale.

Having problems with a QT? Crazy talk!

I love my QT. It has been the steadiest smoke for me, you just have to set up the hookah right!

For the base, fill it a TINY bit above half way. The colder, the better. Any more water then that, it can burn easy. Any less, too easy of a pull and you can burn it!

Don't overpack! That's standard for all hookahs, but make sure you don't do it.

Are you using a standard MYA bowl? I am, and I only need ONE coal to make it smoke well. I use two and it is harsh. MYA bowls are not as deep as other bowls, and aren't big in general, so you don't need too many coals.

I smoke Nakhla 90% of the time. Occasionally I'll smoke Starbuzz, and the rare time I'll smoke Al-waha California dream (tastes like gummy bears I swear).

I use instant lites (blah) 3 kings. At college so I make do with what I can.

well first off make sure the coals are lit all the way of course, and always start with less coals then what your having problems with. when moving coals areound liuft rather then drag so you dont chees-grate the ash into the bowl. as for packing keep it below the rim of the bowl so it wont touch the foil, dont pack it to tight, but you want to make sure you dont have large empty areas within the shisha either. use two layers of foil, lots of tiny holes(toothpick) will keep the bowl fairly vented.

Starbuzz is just really easy to heat manage. Play around with your hole-poking and how many layers of foil you use - eventually you'll figure it out.
