Default Repackaging Tangiers and selling as their own?

I had suspected, but not accused before, and it was brought up in this thread last week: http://www.hookahpro.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16113

Delicioso Tobacco sold in SJ Cigars in Philadelphia, is sold in 50g jars with no plastic wrap around them. When I first heard of the place online, someone speculated that this is possibly repackaged Tangiers.

I've had some before, and despite strong smell, it had lackluster strength of flavor, which is now leading me to believe it needed more acclimating before shoving it in those jars.

But really, upon looking at the flavors, the old man behind the counter came up and opened one to let me smell, and the flavor, was Schnozberry. I also say Maraschino Cherry, and Brambleberry sprinkled through more common flavors like Guava, Passion Fruit, Nectarine, etc.

Eric told me that he has a few places doing that, i think a lounge and a smoke shop. Believe it or not the whole world hasn't heard of tangiers and you can do that and no one will know (i don't know the legality of repackaging tobacco though) Also, there are brands, I think Al Waha that will let you do this as well on a bigger level. Basically you do the packaging and choose flavors and market. there are minimums which is probably a ton of tobacco, literally a ton. that's why you see the same junk coming out, just rehashed crappy shisha with new packaging.

The only thing is the old guy was calling it their "House Specialty" and I just wanted to call him out, but didn't have the spine ha

at least he's using tangiers and not some cheap junk. but why not call him out for shits and giggles, just do it with respect and as a friend, not to corner him, he will appreciate that you know what you are talking about. or he may lie and say he's really making it himself.

I would call him out playfully so that he knows he cant take you for a ride. Then tell him you can pick up 250g for $12 online so ask him what he'll do to make it competitive. I'd love to have a shop nearby that sold tangiers whether repackaged or not for those desperate times... or then again I'd love to have A shop nearby. lol Damn washington DC sucks for shopping!

hahahahahaha He should have just repacked some Nakhla or if he is really cheap Al Waha .. or even Layalina .. would have been cheaper and tasted better for consumers to want to come back and buy more

If I tried some of his "blend" with Tangiers .. I wouldn't be back to buy more!

He does have a lot of 250g Nahkla flavors, and some Mizo. 11.95 for one, 9.95 each if you buy 3 or more. Reasonable.

I also bought something else from this place, what they called their House Blend's that they sell in 100g bags.

After trying their "Creamsicle" well, even after just really looking at it, it appears to be Nakhla mixed to make their own flavors and resold.

I asked the guys at my local store if they ever heard of Tangiers and none of them had. I don't mind the Nakhla being $8 for 250grams there though.

Lol a few arab supermarkets I have seen have a brand called El Nahla, not Nakhla but Nahla, and I refuse to spend 18$ on a 50g to find out whether its the same thing or not, but my gut instinct is telling me it is

Lol will do. Although I heard Sydney was nice. Only problem is that its also the name of my ex gf so it brings up bad memories. Wish I could just forget about the slut already.

Well a good way to start is to not bring it up unless someone else does...

Australia is a beautiful place but it's a prison state for the tobacco smoker. Hookah especially. Taxes make prices sky rocket to insane heights.

buying someone else tobacco product and repackaging it as your "house blend" is just wrong.. IMO
