Default Taste aversion

Well i have been hookah'ing for a few weeks now.
I used to love all these sweet flavors but now the taste makes me gag a bit. Its just become unappealing quick.

Any suggestions for something less honey/syrupy? I have tried fantasia, starbuzz, al fakher. I like af double apple the most but one hit and it makes me sick as do all the flavors. Lemon mist is still good for me. You guys think i should try some AF mint or tea flavors?

sounds like your ready to step up the the wonders of Traditional tobacco.
Try getting some Salloum, or Desi Murli or Nakhla.

AF Mint is good.

Try some Nakhla Zagloul if you want a good tobacco flavor without all the sweetness.

Oh no, you won't get cigarette taste, haha..

You will get subtle nuances of aromatic spices, enveloping a heavy core of sweet dark molasses paired with a dark sweet tobacco flavor unlike anything you've ever tasted, and the flavor of fig will dance around your senses like a butterfly.

You could also smoke Hookahookah 7 spice or cavendish, Nakhla Caradmom or cinnamon, Tangiers kashmir Peach, tangiers Horchata, havana Pipe...

Head over to hookah1.com. Don't be afraid, the site is incomplete and scares some people off, check the vendor reviews you can trust them. Pick up some Desi Murli. I like the Kewra myself. It's cheap enough that if you find it's not for you it's no big loss, and there are plenty of HP members that will be willing to take it off your hands!

Desi Murli is incredible and will provide an extremely relaxing smoke and complex flavours.

Because it's not something that has/will make the mainstream. It's much more complex than sugary starbuzz and other tobaccos of that sort. I myself have been meaning to purchase some after all of the great reviews I have heard about it. Give it a shot, it sounds like that's the product you're looking for.

Not terribly popular is my guess. It comes in a plain plastic bag with a simple label. (see pic). The flavor is VERY subtle. Check out some of Madwolf's videos for reviews.

Thanks for the suggestion. Will order soon!
Any comparison on nicotine content? Starbuzz still gets me lightheaded, which was the reason i bought some american shisha to begin with.

I would say if SB still gets you lightheaded, you should be careful with the Desi Murli. It has about the same nicotine kick as Nakhla, if not a bit more!

I agree with Dee. If SB gets you light headed Desi Murli will be like a Cactus Jack chair shot to your skull. I would suggest getting some El Basha Nakhla first then regular Nakhla or Salloum. Get used to that then venture into Desi Murli.

Yeah, I would keep an eye out for flavors that would traditionally be less sweet. Or mix sweeter flavors with something not-so-sweet, like mint. Or, just smoke more slowly, which is what I usually end up doing.

Try some coffee flavors. You'll get really addicted to them if you like coffee.

My favorites are Nakhla Coffee (great as a mixer, I like to mix it with AF vanilla and Tangiers Cocoa), AF Cafe Latte and Tangiers Horchata (not rly coffee but in the same category of delicious milky drinks in my book).
