Default reviving my rusted nammor

so, with the death of my brand new never used nammor hose (it rusted after its initial washing - don't ask me how, clearly a manufacturing default), it was suggested in a previous post that i rebuild it.

i'm going to buy some clear PVC tubing to replace the hose part, and attach to it the 2 ends of my nammor hose.

first question - is PVC tubing the best thing to use to replace the hose?

second question - what would you advise as being the best way to attach the ends to the new "hose". i have a hot glue gun at home - i was thinking of using this.

thanks.

There's a Clear flex PVC that's labeled "food grade" this is a clean non-Toxic PVC that they use for Soda machines and ETC. That works rather well actually.

What color is your nammor? Is it possible you're seeing dye coming out from the hose tip and not rust?

hi dunkel.

the hose is dark blue. the rust is that orange rust color.

when i ran water through the hose the first time i was watching to see some excess dye run off. there was none. and the hose was fine after that so i hung it to dry. it's only the next morning that the end that goes into the hookah had the orange/rust crap inside.

there is a metal coil inside my nammor. i would have thought that a washable hose would not have a metal coil.

i have no idea what is going on with this hose. it looks just like all the pictures i have seen of a nammor but it is rusted and has a metal coil. southsmoke will give me credit but i have to pay shipping to get a new one sent to me, so i am trying to at least make a new hose out of the piece of crap "nammor" they sent me.

Ive never heard of this happening. I thought the hose was just ridged formed plastic. Maybe it wasn't a legit nammor.

that's what i would have thought.

can anyone else confirm that a nammor hose should not have a metal coil, in with case i was sold a fake.

it's a pretty good looking fake, if that's the case.

A nammor hose should have no metal in them at all. I own 3 of them and not one of them has any metal. It is an all plastic washable hose.

Where did you buy it?

a pic would really help us to let you know if its really a nammor, they might have shipped the wrong hose in the first place.

Well to answer the initial question, food grade PVC works great, just take your hose tips into the hardware store and see which ones should fit on.
