Default Sultan Sima Black Current

I got to try some Black Current moassel from the Sultan Sima brand and I found it utterly amazing. It had a nice classically Turkish tobacco taste on the backend and a very strong and natural taste of black currents with just the right amount of sweetness. Sultan Sima doesn't seem to find it's way out of Turkey much which is odd since it's obviously mass produced and has modern packaging. I'd love to be able to get a reliable source for this stuff but I somehow I don't see that happening. Anyone else have any experience with this brand or flavour?

I have never had any experience with it. The idea of a currant flavored tobacco sounds wonderful. Currants have a rich flavor that I think would pair nicely with a natural aged tobacco flavor.

Sultan Sima is a brand that should be easy to get since it's mass produced in Turkey so I suppose I don't see why no distributor has picked it up. Some the flavours they make aren't anything special but everything that i've had has been pretty good to great. In terms of what to compare the better stuff they make to i'd say Salloum with a bit more tobacco taste in the background. Unfortunately I don't have a regular source for Sultan Sima although it seems it's obtainable in the Middle East if you want to spend some time looking. Apparently a lot of Arabs like it which is interesting since generally Arabs only smoke stuff that is made in what country they live in save really huge brands like Nakhla and a couple of gulf brands.

I got my first hookah from Turkey, crappy little thing it was, but still had some nice smokes with it. They guy I bought it from threw in some sima sultan apricot - I remember it being fantastic so if you do manage to find some let me know! =]

Interesting, I never a apricot moassel I liked so it would be interesting to get Sima Sultan's take on that flavour.

Sima Sultan is about a 100 times easier to get then Shooting Star. Thing is a lot brands are made in very small batches by very tiny firms that just sell stuff within a few miles of where they are made. Think of Shooting Star like a really tiny, high end brewery and you get the basic idea.
