Default Question about ice chambers

Was thinking about getting a hookah with an ice chamber, but I have a couple of questions.

How would you remove the melted ice water from the ice chamber? Would you have to remove the whole stem and pour it out? Or is there like a release valve?

If I were to use a egyptian bowl with some juicy shisha, would the juice go into the ice? Or does the ice chamber go around the stem?

Does the ice chamber make it more difficult to clean the hookah stem?

And lastly, is it really worth getting? Like, does it cool the smoke dramatically?

yes... you pour it out when you are done.. all you need to do is take the bowl off and lean the stem a bit so some water can come out

Just have some ice in the fridge and put it in the base. . .waay easier and more efficient. The ice chamber thing is more of a novelty - like double/triple/quadruple bowls.

There are a couple SB flavors that are VERY wet. I had this same problem with SB Pink flavor.

I currently have a 36" KM Ice and it is really good, nice to look at and it smokes like a treat, mine has a release valve so its easy to remove water.

The ice does cool the stem and makes smoke cooler particulary whilst smoking blue mist, and the flavour shouldnt leak onto the ice unless the *** and chamber are close.

virtually all current ice chamber designs are inherently flawed... the ice serves to cool the stem for a 2-4 inch section, which the smoke passes thru in less than a second. Not gonna make it much cooler, and its a PITA. Plus some peoples have rusted.

I would htink the ICE chamver would be nice. As where the ice is at, my hookah gets very warm to the touch in that location after smoking it for a while. However, i would think that ice in the base would be just as good, and it wont cause rust.

If you dont dry it out completely, wont it rust up inside the ice chamber?

yeap that's for sure it would just rust inside the chamber if not properly dried after every use/clean. I use to have an ice chamber hookah from eBay as my first hookah and it works excellent! But i couldn't really tell a difference compared to all my Trimetals so might as well go with a better looking KM rather than the chillers. Ice in the base does work but since it's in water it does melt awfully fast haha

Yeah but when the heat from the hookah starts cookin the stem, The ice in the chiller is going to melt fairly quick as well isnt it?

As long as you don't keep too many coals on the tray it won't melt too fast. But the head from the top of the stem does make the melting go a bit faster too =P

They do cool the stem down, but it doesn't make sense because KM hookahs aren't solid - the core tube that runs down the middle isn't touching the stem walls.
